summer loving niggas are so greedy cause spring and fall are already turning into summer 2 and 3 and these people still be crying about winter
Things I'll NEVER do in GD:
- hack extreme demons
- steal levels from other creators and get them rated
- post numerous hate comments in daily chat every day
- host megacollabs with a bunch of new creators and not credit them

the gd community seems to have a very poor understanding of AI, how it has been developing recently, and the implications it will have on gd. there has been a lot of bad faith & ignorant discussion about it and i want to share what i know and what i believe (1/?)
this begs the question, for how long are levels made with AI gonna be limited to this genre of level? to me and many others, these kinds of levels have mostly felt very generic and uninspired, even when real people were making them (even though they do definitely have their (1/4)
example; the kinds of levels with more intentionality/obvious genuine passion put into them. at least so far, it's very easy to tell if something like that was mostly made by AI or not (similar to more basic vs. more experimental music genres). it's obviously terrible and (3/4)
i've seen "gameplay over deco" sometimes be used as cope for making generic/uninspired gameplay even if it is fun. this mindset also makes no sense; it's not as simple as one being more important than the other. gameplay and decoration aren't and shouldn't be separate, (1/3)
they should work together to provide the experience intended by the creator. so many aspects of deco can affect the playing experience (visibility, structuring, composition, colors, song representation, etc), and their importance depends on the kind of level you're making. (2/3)
not sure why i haven't already shared this publicly, but here are statistics of every single demon i beat if anyone is curious: docs.google.com/spreadsheets…
