In 1970, IBM researcher Edgar F. Codd published an 11-page paper that changed database design. He proposed organizing data using mathematical relations instead of forcing programmers to navigate rigid tree structures. Decades later, developers embraced XML databases, then schemaless JSON stores, with endless predictions that SQL was finished. Then some of those systems started adding schema validation, joins, ACID transactions, and SQL-like query languages. Turns out changing how you store data doesn’t make the relationships between it disappear.

Unity Catalog = {semantics & learned knowledge} Genie One = Genie Agents Manager / Dispatcher / Router each Genie Agent is domain specific, i.e., knows only one thing and it very well.
[DEMO] Your AI agents can query data. But do they understand what it means? See how Genie Ontology, Genie One, MCP, and Unity Gateway help agents use trusted business context with guardrails in place. Watch the demo: youtu.be/ZuLAAdIjeeE

Turn a starting prompt into something you can test, compare, and reuse. @CheaperInfer's Prompt Studio brings @gepa_ai's reflective prompt optimization into a visual workspace, with a Python library underneath. - Bring your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint. - Define what a good answer looks like, try candidate prompts, compare outcomes, and export the prompt you want to use. - Experiment with a less expensive task model while checking whether quality holds on your evaluation data. - Results depend on your task, models, and scoring criteria. github.com/cheaper-inference…

One reason I am sanguine about the technological singularity is that I have seen it coming for over 50 years. In 1975, when I was 17, I wrote: "Before man can most effectively aid his problem solving machinery, he must first understand it. At present, his understanding is very poor. However, when the breakthrough in understanding the brain occurs, improvement will come very fast and in an exponential increase. Once man has created an intelligence greater than his own, that intelligence should be able to create an intelligence greater than itself, as man whose intelligence is less than its was able to create its intelligence. Thus, the level of intelligence will shoot up with incredible rapidity, probably within the space of years. Within a few years of a breakthrough, which may occur any time now, man will either have been left behind by a superior intelligence of his own making, which he can no longer understand, or he will have become that intelligence and will no longer be like anything imaginable today."

Agents keep going for days, even weeks. They notice when something breaks and unblock themselves. Close your laptop, and the agent keeps watching your training run through the night. In one overnight run, agents in Lor found security bugs in LiteLLM and fixed them by morning.

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

…. Getting lost in the eternity & the universality of the “inanimate”. Knowing that you will be dead one day, and the world will continue without you. Being at peace with the mere thought of that & the onset of that, which is well on its way.
"You will be civilized on the day you can spend a long period doing nothing, learning nothing, and improving nothing, without feeling the slightest amount of guilt." - Nassim Nicholas Taleb

How concerned should we be about plague? Following the mysterious death of a researcher at a Russian laboratory, plague is back in the headlines. But Yale physician-scientist Ingrid Katz says there's no evidence so far that the incident poses a broader threat to the public. In a Q&A, Katz explains what we know and don't know, how different forms of plague spread, and why careful investigation matters more than speculation: bit.ly/3WvX1oP

Excited to share TokenGate. By teaching LLMs to conditionally skim context tokens, we achieve up to 11.3x faster prefill and drastically reduce peak memory for long-context tasks!
Introducing ✨Token-Gated Language Models✨ for up to 11x faster prefill by learning to skim context, conditionally forwarding only tokens that matter. Akin to the shift from dense models to MoEs, the next frontier of efficient LLMs is conditional computation over a new scaling axis: context tokens🧵👇
