“The first action to be taken is to pull ourselves together. If we are going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb, when it comes, find us doing sensible and human things -- praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts -- not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs.” — C.S. Lewis

This is what your 20s are for
people rarely know what they truly want sometimes you have to be given exactly what you thought you wanted to realize you were wrong. and that's okay

Many of the things people buy are not about the product so much as they are about the story that comes with it; “this is how I would live if I had more free time” “this will give me the energy to be who I am supposed to be” etc

I want this quote to be on every AP Art History syllabus in the country by 2028. I want to make AP Art History teachers and AP Art History students smile. I want my pound of flesh, my canonical tweet
Those who do not study art history are doomed to repeat art history.

came up with this idea for a movie script about the bratty but lovable kids of a husband-wife secret agent duo that gets kidnapped by a supervillain and it’s up to the kids to rescue them. I’m calling it Spy Children until I come up with something catchier

as a general rule of thumb, many people get pissed off if your experiences do not match their experiences; this is clever game design because it ensures there is always conflict

Because they’re confused; they imagine themselves the gatekeepers of God’s love, and in doing so, attempt to make others pay for something that is actually free

Our culture continues to raise very submissive men and it’s no good for anyone, but among those men who adopt the submissive narrative there are conscious submissive men and unconscious submissive men. A man who’s self esteem is so low that he advertises or names himself, whether in public or private, as submissive comes off to the hyper feminist lens as a safe space, as someone who has surrendered to the pendulum swing, someone who is willing to submit to femininity and society at large. Sometimes this comes from a sense of self awareness drawn out from the unconscious submissive nature but instead of observing it and choosing to act differently, viewing it and accepting it, taking it on, and identifying with it whether siloed into sexuality or identifying with a submissive nature more generally. To see the powerlessness thrown upon them and to accept it rather than to live differently and with agency. Sometimes it's an unconscious trap being owned and called awareness. The unconscious submissive man is someone who’s sense of worth and sense of masculinity is carefully curated around him through accolades and external signals that he views himself a True Alpha Man and so he confidently acts as and moves through the world as a Man but due to all the markers for such masculinity being externally sourced, he is, in fact, submissive to all that surrounds and defines him. As opposed to his worth being internally sourced from a well spring of self esteem, which is what it is to be truly dominant over one’s own life. This man is perceived as a Man to most other unconscious people, regardless of gender, because they too are operating from a place of external signals and external senses of self: buying into the framework, blinders on. This lack of awareness makes him no less submissive than the man who claims to be aware of it.
