Cost of medical education and high entry cost of real estate pushes underprivileged young doctors to corporate jobs.
This defeats very purpose of community anchored healthcare.
Govt can help by opening up infrastructure for them.
As it is govt gives prime land and tax breaks to corporate hospitals. Why not help real individuals?
Repeating my request -
Start long lease for individual doctors to have clinics in Pune Metro stations. Do NOT sell that space to corporate healthcare.
Start at-least one Jan-aushadhi shop in these medical hubs.
Metro stations are convenient and accessible to people on wheelchairs too.
Make them into diverse medical hubs. Bring community spirit back in our communities.

The ultimate form of preparation is not planning for a specific scenario, but a mindset that can handle uncertainty.

People tend to have two kinds of relationships with cancer.
The first doesn't want to think about it:
“It won't happen to me.”
“If it happens, I'll deal with it then.”
Underlying this attitude, very often, is fear. We have seen what cancer can do to someone we love. So we would rather not think about it at all.
But being an ostrich in this situation is not the best decision. Ignoring the possibility of cancer doesn't make the risk go away.
The second group has seen cancer up close. A parent, a sibling, a friend. They know what the disease can do, and the possibility of it happening to them feels very real.
I want us to develop a third kind of relationship with cancer. A healthy, intelligent one.
Here's what that looks like.
First, accept that it can happen to anyone.
Second, don't let that thought take over your life. You don't need to live in constant fear or become a hypochondriac.
Third, make time for a periodic health check-in. Ask yourself one simple question: “Could something be wrong?”
Follow the screening and health-check recommendations appropriate for your age and risk. If something concerns you, speak to your doctor.
Cancer outcomes can be very different when the disease is detected early. That is why awareness and timely action matter.
The idea is simple. Not panic. Not avoidance. Awareness, followed by sensible action.
We cannot control everything about our health. But we can choose not to ignore it.

Working on this story for @foundingf gave me so much clarity on the question 'Can AI become conscious?'

Can AI be intelligent and still feel nothing?
My colleague @rmnth’s weekend special for @FoundingF provides a useful way into this question: seven thinkers who disagree about what consciousness is—and what it would take for a machine to have it.

I knew a guy who worked for Texas Instruments back in the day. He told me that after they created the first electronic hand calculator, they got a call from Bell Telephone.
The folks from Bell were really worried. You see, when they created the first push-button phone, they did extensive tests and analyses to determine the EXACT BEST PATTERN for the number buttons. They wanted the pattern that would be the easiest for people to tap in the dark or via muscle memory.
But when they saw that Texas Instruments' calculator had the exact opposite layout, Bell realized they must have blundered.
"So," they asked. "What did your tests show?"
The guys at Texas Instruments just gaped stupidly and said, "Tests?"

Gujarat’s Kharai camel: the world’s only breed that regularly swims miles in seawater to graze on coastal mangroves! 🐫
These endangered camels obey their herders' whispers, returning to the Kutch mainland solely by the sound of members of the nomadic Fakirani Jat community.
Protecting them is crucial for India’s biodiversity!

I created a new animation of the amazing "Fibonacci Elephant." (It uses more squares in the trunk than in the previous animation I posted, suggesting an infinite trunk.)
