An argument could be made that this is the best Power Pop song of the last 30 years.

It meets all the criteria - an addictive melody powered by chiming, jangly guitars and a dynamic, inventive bridge coloured with pristine harmonies. It should come as no surprise that it was written by Pop master Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne.

While it wasn't as successful in the U.S. as in other countries, it has earned great status and respect over the years. Any band that covers it earns immediate credibility.

I wish the @Brewers were playing an unlikable team. I wish the @RaysBaseball were playing an unlikable team. #WorldSeries
In the early 2000s, these albums were my faves.

No exaggeration, this guy might be the best interview in pro sports right now
I don't know what this whole "My 9 Albums" thing is all about. Why 9 and not 10? Anyway, here are 9 albums that, over the years, I've played at least 9 million times each.

Debut singles that have hooked an audience. Elvis' "That's All Right Mama," Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car," & Boston's "More Than A Feeling" come to mind.

"I Want You Back" stands as one of the finest lead-off singles by any act in Pop music.
Berry Gordy knew that the Jackson 5 and especially Michael had the potential to be an explosive act. They just needed the right song.

#GoHabsGo fans crying over the team not acquiring a big winger a-la Marchenko and Knies to play in their top 6, seem to already have forgotten about C Kreider.
Celebrating "Walk Away Renee" by the Left Banke
Released 1966

This remains one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. It had a sense of mystery, largely due to its arrangement and lyrics, which were hard to decipher.

I like the @Nationals but every time they ‘honour’ the @Montreal_Expos , it’s another turn and twist of the knife into the hearts of Expos fans. We will never forget how @MLB stole our team.

As a songwriter, @GibbBarry, has left his fingerprints on every style of pop music. The current music audience will never grasp his profound influence on music. Happy birthday to one of the greatest, most underrated songwriters of the past 60 years.
