After playing MW4 DMZ for 8 hours yesterday, there’s definitely a lot of features that Marathon should take inspiration from. I don’t think DMZ is the best game ever made or anything but the actual missions felt like I was playing Co-op campaign in an extraction shooter. I understood the narrative story from actually playing and watching the cutscenes. The scale of the map is impressive and the AI actually made the map feel like I was behind enemy lines to fit the theme. It’s Call of Duty at the end of the day so there’s a lot of areas it lacks in but overall it was solid. Going to play more today.

Seems like a pretty game, wonder if it will do well…
Destiny 1 running at 4k, 60 fps and 105 fov on PC.
Honestly pretty blown away by it, looks even better than I hoped it would.

Marathon Nightfall Refresh honestly isn't so bad. The chase is definitely there and it feels rewarding to get good gear. I'm enjoying the early game and using off meta weapons. I like the drop rates and economy right now.
The main issue with this wipe is getting into games alone or with only 1 other team in the lobby. Other than that, if Symbiosis launches like this, December will be pretty fun.
@MarathonDevTeam
As a Marathon supporter, I think using the difficulty of the game as one of the main reasons it hasn't been as successful is a copout. The lead up to the release of the game, the server slam (limiting upgrades in the test), D2 EoS (majority of S1 players came from Destiny) were big factors that hurt its success. The game itself has also had plenty of issues up until this point: Season 2 launch, Servers (no regs/desync), onboarding, CHEATING!!, loot economy, progression, Cryo 3 days a week and balancing being the big ones. Compared to other extraction shooters out there Marathon is one of the more casual ones. Sure, lesser skilled players have been struggling but Marathon has struggled more to keep PvP/extraction players on the game.
That being said, I'm looking forward to playing this October wipe and December update. New update is looking good 👍

Marathon can't have another Season 2 launch. If it takes delaying Season 3/Symbiosis to get it right, I don't mind it. The game has already been at rock bottom. This December update is a chance to get people back on board and avoid all the big releases coming out in November.

We’re making changes to Marathon’s update plans and how we deliver new content.
We’re moving away from a strict seasonal schedule to give the team more flexibility to build, test, and improve features before release. Our focus is on delivering bigger, more meaningful updates, expanding how you can play, and continuing to grow the world of Tau Ceti IV.
