A quick recording of a test meadow. Everything is still very much work in progress but I like how dense it's starting to look like, especially compared to the stuff I had before: youtu.be/ULg99gUYYPQ
For the past couple of weeks I've mostly been working on a editor for the new grass / shrubbery system. It's starting to be in a pretty good shape even though there's still stuff to do.
Integration to Places mostly done even though many things are still buggy. But it's fun to be able to start experimenting with art again. Been doing some throw away tests.
A new system for grass and other small foliage is coming together for Places. Not much to look at yet but I've done a first pass over most of the important functionality.
Nice, got Captain Rixot running in browser with only a couple of hours of porting work. Mainly setting up emscripten SDK, makefile setup and a few function call changes due to GL 3.3 -> GLES 3.0 swap. Hopefully only audio and save games remaining and then misc polish.
Now playable at jlv.fi/rixot/play/. Updated the native builds also with PC speaker emulation and some misc fixes.
Been doing a lot of quick sketching outdoors recently. Not really caring about the results, just having fun observing and scratching down some marks. Super relaxing! I've probably drawn more in the last month than past few years combined.
I've been looking into adding better PC speaker emulation to Captain Rixot and here's a comparison video of what I've got so far. First with emulation off and then on:
