This is one of the most significant events that occurred this year. Not because of the winding-down of AGV, that was unfortunate, because it is a signal that Arbitrum initiatives can be recalibrated by governance to match the market and priorities.
The amount of capital returned to the DAO was greater than the then current value of the tokens initially set out as part of the program.
Being responsible stewards of the treasury is one of the most common criticisms of protocols, Arbitrum has stronger checks and balances in place than any other major protocol.
TREASURY UPDATE: 129.18M ARB and 7M USDC have been returned to the DAO treasury since the AGV wind-down proposal passed in July.
The 7M USDC has been routed to the ATMC portfolio for deployment into yield-bearing strategies.
Any future deployment of the remaining treasury capital, whether into higher-yielding strategies or strategic opportunities, is controlled by ARB holders through governance.

Circle leaning into memes on @arc as the basis for the initial chain growth is one of the funniest pre-product pivots I have seen.
Not sure I disagree with it because it'll make them more money. Doesn't mean it isn't hilarious.

HUGE new research note from @StanChart on Arbitrum just now!
They forecast 250x increase in the tokenized equity market by 2028 with @Arbitrum at a “unique advantage” with a business model to “help TradFi operators move on-chain”.
Standard Chartered is a major international bank with over $900 billion in assets.
This is the note sent to clients this morning.

Been in the crypto space for about twelve years now (six full-time) and I don't think the sentiment has ever been worse. It's hard to explain why with all of the momentum and onboarding of tradfi, but I think it boils down to three things:
- People lost so much money trading memecoins and leverage and they are exhausted and/or out of money. It's just game over for them. There was just too much crap.
- Most of crypto is traders. Every market in the world is going up except for crypto. It's hard to feel sidelined.
- Even the real stuff, a lot of it is taking way longer than expected to materialize into real businesses. Take Ethereum for example, five years ago it was criticized for being too expensive, and today it is being criticized for not generating enough revenue. Finding that balance is very hard and requires an order of magnitude of growth for the industry.
The good news is that growth is coming. I see more onboarding of tradfi every day both on the debt, equity and trading sides of the business. Cryptonative assets will not power the next 100x growth but crypto rails will.
People talk about how violently crypto prices can move, but if you look, growth in fees for chains and protocols have actually had equally if not more significant swings. I expect that to occur again, and stabilize much higher as we navigate this transition.

The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications.
After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users.
As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.
Congratulations on your new role @nina_rong! I had the chance to work with Nina for almost two years and she is one of the sharpest and most driven people I have met. More importantly she is also one of the most thoughtful people I know, I’m still reliant on her Chinese tea supply… 👀
Extremely fortunate to have learned from Nina.
Excited to see the huge impact she will make at @BNBCHAIN.

I am excited to announce that I have joined BNB Chain as the Executive Director of Growth.
In 2021, I joined the crypto industry when blockchains were congested. It was a time when a single transaction could cost thousands in USD value. I had the extreme pleasure of contributing to the go-to-market of one of the most successful scaling solutions of Ethereum.
Fast forward to 2025, there are over 150 L2s, and many more L1s with magnitudes higher throughput than Ethereum. Yet, 99% of blockchain ecosystems launched in the past 24 months fail to bootstrap users or developers.
The crypto industry is facing a new challenge – the challenge of discovery.
Today, less than 10% of assets on-chain are activated. The truth is that crypto products struggle to reach retail users, and retail users often face challenges with liquidity discovery.
How BNB Chain is solving the discovery problem better than others:
Mass user base: With over 695M unique addresses and 2M+ daily active users, BNB Chain is the ideal distribution channel for innovations to reach mass adoption.
Optimized for liquidity discovery: The BNB Chain ecosystem has had 619 BEPs and 20 hard forks in the past 6 years to minimize the cost of discovery: reducing latency by 24x, increasing throughput by 40x, and reducing fees by 300x.
Developer support: This is where I am most excited. In this role, I will be focusing on creating programs and platforms to onboard early-stage projects and global talent to the BNB ecosystem, providing them with access to resources and the mass user base of the BNB Chain ecosystem.
Drop me a DM if you are 1) interested in building on BNB Chain, 2) looking for job opportunities at BNB Chain Foundation, or BNB Chain ecosystem in general ✉️
Nuff talk today.
We don’t talk the talk, we Build N Build 💛

One of the more interesting mechanics I've seen to gamify the Perp experience comes from @variational_io built on @Arbitrum.
They have a "Loss Refund" mechanism. When you close a losing trade on their platform, a lottery kicks in, giving you up to a 4% chance (tier-based) to get a full 100% refund of your loss or 20% of the Loss Refund Pool (whichever one is less).
The funds come directly from the protocol's own spread revenue. They take 10% of their spread revenue and put it into a pool just for these refunds.
It's interesting how perp dexes are thinking of different mechanics to make trading on their platforms attractive and gamifying the experience.
