All is reps. There’s no substitution for reps. 10,000 hours is just a metaphor for reps. Chess is reps. Painting is reps. Thinking, wisdom, even prayer is reps. There’s a reason the French say ‘apprendre par cœur’ (to learn by heart). Repetition itself is the stairway to heaven

The way people talk about Rawlings, you would think he didn’t rule Ghana for 19 GOOD YEARS ….. 19!

ceding ‘rights’ just to fix basic issues of flooding be very funny line of thought 💀🤣
Every year I say the same thing. Every year I get bashed. But I will say it anyway: The democracy you people are practising (where every problem cannot be solved unless we take everyone's opinion and "rights") will not allow us to solve big ticket problems like the annual floods. You know it. I know it. Question is: are we willing to break protocol and fix it and damned the consequences?

Very interesting thought process. How you have managed to link rainfall, flooding and democracy is quite intriguing. Like Ghana didn't flood under autocratic regimes too.

Build relationships with people who have their private life in order, they tend to not suddenly disappear for no reason, and you will be able to compound your relationships with so much more depth over the decades.

Deciding on going out is a super spontaneous decision for me. Partly why I find it difficult booking tickets ahead. Because one hour to the event sef, e fit commot my inside.

Graduate education in Ghana is substandard. Even the normal undergraduate studies seem shaky. Lecturers are all about power play and looking superior. Not much intellectual engagement. For supervision over research work, you have to beg them. I wrote two long essays( research work) in Ghana. All through needless stress!
Every 3-6 months someone talks about how people shouldn’t leave the country to do masters or PhD. And aside the fact that this country is generally crap, I need you to please ask those who have done their masters and PhD in Ghana and hear their experience. 🤣🤣

Need something like this thread but for Ghana.
This is true. To understand Nigeria and why it never works for us, we need to truly understand how it all started. What we call Nigeria and its government was a business idea invented by and for a British trading company, “The Royal Niger Company” in the year 1886.
