Turkey say that Greece cannot apply UNCLOS rights because they don't agree since THEY DIDN'T SIGN IT. On the other hand they demand Greece to apply Paris treaty, but Turkey also DIDN'T SIGN! This is all you need to know about what Turkey considers as justice 😂🤡
🇬🇷 Greeks suck at reading and comprehension as the latest #PISA scores show. But they really need to understand something urgently.
From an international law perspective, Türkiye’s legal arguments rest on the following pillars:
⭐️ The Res Inter Alios Acta and "Persistent Objector" Principles: #Greece relies heavily on #UNCLOS, but Türkiye is not a signatory. Under the foundational legal doctrine of res inter alios acta, a treaty cannot bind a state that hasn't signed it. While Greece argues that the 12-nautical-mile territorial water limit is now customary international law, Türkiye actively opposed this rule in the #Aegean during UNCLOS negotiations. By consistently rejecting its application, Türkiye secures the legal status of a "persistent objector," exempting it from the customary rule in this specific geography.
⭐️ The Supremacy of "Equity" over Strict Geography: Greece applies UNCLOS default rules—asserting that every island generates full #maritime zones. However, #ICJ and Arbitral Tribunals have repeatedly ruled that the ultimate goal of any maritime delimitation is not strict mathematical geography, but an "equitable solution". Türkiye argues that the Aegean is a semi-enclosed sea with undeniable "special circumstances". A chain of Greek islands (like #Lesbos, #Chios, and #Samos) lies just a few miles off the Anatolian coast.
⭐️ The Disproportionality and "Enclavement" Problem: If Greece exercises a 12-mile territorial limit, it would essentially lock Türkiye out of the Aegean, turning the area into a "Greek lake" and cutting off the Turkish mainland's access to the high seas. International legal tribunals strongly disfavor boundary lines that disproportionately "cut off" a mainland coastal state from international waters.
⭐️ ICJ Precedent on Island Continental Shelves: Türkiye argues that the seabed of the Aegean is a natural geological prolongation of the Anatolian landmass. More importantly, Türkiye's position is backed by international precedent: in several cases, the ICJ and Arbitral Tribunals have granted zero or severely reduced continental shelves and economic zones to islands when their location would otherwise severely disadvantage a mainland state's equitable rights.
⭐️ Conditional Sovereignty and #Militarization: Türkiye's legal framework links these maritime disputes to the original treaties that established the borders. Sovereignty over several of these islands was granted to Greece on the explicit legal condition that they remain demilitarized. From Türkiye's standpoint, Greece cannot legally demand maximum maritime expansion from territories where it is currently violating the core treaty stipulations that granted it the territory in the first place.
#Athens' time to understand all this, give up its maximalist/expansionist agenda, and come to a peaceful resolution with #Ankara is running out.
Türkiye will not wait to be attacked. ⌛️💥

Kastellorizo is not “580km from Greece.”
The island _is_ Greece.
And this account is a Turkish regime influence operation.
2 km from Türkiye. 580 km from Greece.
And yet it claims 40,000 km² of sea.
Kastellorizo — a tiny island right off the Turkish coast — is being used to cut off 1,577 km of Türkiye's Mediterranean coastline.
And, the 1947 Paris Treaty says it must stay demilitarized.
Today? Greek missile boats armed with Exocets patrol its waters.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Kastellorizo isn't 580km from Greece. It's is a Greek island, Greek territory.

Rafael is on its way to protect the skies of Greece 🇮🇱🇬🇷
We are taking a central role in the Israel Ministry of Defense’s largest ever defense export deal with Greece.
As part of the “Achilles Shield” project, we will provide Greece with the David’s Sling and SPYDER air defense systems, alongside a new national command and control system. A supplementary agreement covers the sale of Drone Dome C-UAS systems to protect strategic sites and reinforce existing defenses.
Combat proven like no other.

Thank you, @PrimeministerGR Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for your warm Independence Day message and Greece’s steadfast support. At the heart of the Greek word “democracy” are the people and their power to decide. Ukraine is defending exactly this right today — to choose our own future, free from aggression and coercion. We deeply value Greece’s principled stance that borders cannot be changed by force. Upholding this principle today requires increasing pressure on Russia and making the cost of its aggression ever higher until it ends this war. Grateful to Greece and its people for standing with Ukraine.

Jerusalem has studied not only how NATO's Article 5 operates, but where it applies. The treaty protects Turkish territory; Turkish troops do not carry that territory with them onto Syrian or occupied Cypriot soil.

⚠️🇪🇺 Turkey’s illegal attempt to claim waters beyond its jurisdiction by establishing “national” marine parks over an EU member state’s continental shelf-encircling and isolating European islands-is a direct challenge to the sovereignty, borders and security of the European Union itself.
Yet EU institutions remain silent once again, repeatedly demonstrating that European security and international law demand urgent action only when the threat comes from Russia and targets Europe’s north. This selective inaction is indefensible.

Atentamente,
Un Cristiano Muy Razonable
