do y’all think y’all are the first ppl to have this philosophy? people have been “choosing the lesser of two evils” for 150+ years & the material conditions of the people continue to worsen. how much more historical evidence do y’all need to finally concede that it won’t work?

Just like Obama and Biden built the cages that Trump uses today, the genocide in Gaza was facilitated and enabled every step of the way by the Democrats before Trump took over. Just as Trump in his first term had laid the foundations for Israel to be emboldened enough to carry out the atrocities it did years later. They're all complicit.
Methods for enacting policies of violence may change between administrations, but the primary architecture and logic remains. There isn't actually a material divergence.
Democrats and Republicans are colluders and collaborators maintaining the interests of the same corporate elites/ mandate.
That is why what Democrats point to as uniquely Trump's fascism, must not be interpreted as such; as born or implemented over night after he came into office— its a process.
Bush began creating the framework for who was legal/ illegal; for detaining and disappearing people (enabled by Reagan, Clinton previously); Obama built and developed that apparatus tenfold; as well as militarizing police and curtailing civil liberties. Trump expanded it. Biden then maintained it. So don't ask how Trump was able to do all that he has.
Obama deported more people than all previous administrations combined— empowering ICE unlike ever before (first appointing current director Homan), who implemented horrific measures against those deemed illegal— as well as building the facilities and the institutional capabilities that later Trump used to separate families and cage children at an even larger scale. Because nobody challenged him, it only empowered and emboldened Trump.
Both parties present themselves as diametrically opposed to one another in every conceivable way. Yet this is a lie and a sham. They're collaborators and collude to ultimately maintain the same political and corporate interests.
At the basis of their shared agenda is the maintenance of the empire and the settler state at all costs; they will never jeopardize or abandon this.
The state has been hollowed out through a corporate takeover across decades by oligarchs and now technocrats. The state is now merely a vehicle through which the wealthy and corporate elite purchase, assert, and protect their interests.
Both parties serve the same role within this dynamic; how they carry out that mandate differs only in the rate/ pace of implementation and the optics of how they package and sell that agenda to the populace.

ask the displaced families in Africa & the Middle East if the “lesser of two evils” makes the bombs drop any differently, if it makes the imperialism any less violent. such a privileged position to feel joyful about electing blue fascists over red fascists.

It is devastating for the Ummah that some are deceived by "Abdul El-Sayed's" claim of Islām, although he has numerous statements of apostasy that crush the foundation of the religion.
This goes far beyond labels of being a Takfīrī, for how could one who says his highest allegiance is to the US Constitution, and who supports the legality of LGBTQ+, be ruled a Muslim by figures such as Jonathan Brown?

Sorry but what’s the point in having a letting agent if they can’t do shit like this for you, I’d rather not have the house ffs
Are you a landlord? 🏠
From 15 December, if you’re a landlord of an assured or regulated tenancy in England, you must register yourself and each of your properties through the new service on GOV.UK by the deadline for your region. Letting agents can’t register on your behalf.
You’ll need to give details of your properties, like:
• the address 🔑
• the number of tenants and bedrooms 🛏️
• the amount of rent you're receiving for a property 💷
• gas and electricity safety certificates ⚡
You may be asked to provide energy performance certificates (EPCs) if your details can't be found on the EPC register.
wtf lol

Let me help you understand what you don’t know about Islam. You are confusing two different things: personal prayer and divine preservation.
As an Igbo man that you are, you can sit in your room and talk to God in Igbo. You can speak to him in Yoruba, Erik, or any native tongue. God created all languages and He hears you clearly. You do not need Arabic for personal requests.
The reason the Quran and our formal daily prayers remain in Arabic is simply about strict textual security.
Let me give you an example. Take a complex legal document. Translate it from English to Mandarin, then to Spanish, and then back to English.
By the time you make the final translation to English, the core meaning gets butchered. Words lose their original weight because human languages do not perfectly map onto each other. This is one thing you and many others don’t know.
This is the tragedy of past religious scriptures. Men translated them, the original texts vanished, and people ended up following human interpretations. Men corrupted them with their words. That’s why you see various translations and interpretations of the Bible today.
When you rely on a translated book today, you are just reading a human translator's mindset. You lose the divine source. And ultimately, errors and contractions set in.
Islam came to correct the mistakes of the past.
Islam permanently shut down that loophole. The revelation was locked in its original language. This guarantees that a Muslim in Lagos and a Muslim in Tokyo stand together in prayer and recite the very words revealed over a thousand years ago.
It is a brilliant anti-corruption mechanism that protects the theology from human manipulation.
I make bold to say that Islam is the only religion in existence that has such a flawless system of divine preservation. This is why we are bold to challenge you to show us errors in the Quran. You won’t see, unless you want to show us your confusions.
Mind you, the challenge is still on till eternity.
So, it is not a language barrier, it is a divine preservation with none of its kind.
Allah knows best.
If this was a discussion about muslim children, this would be called indoctrination and radicalisation.
I'm not going to name the school, but the @BBC's coverage of the antisemitism in schools report featured interviews with children from a Jewish school.
Here's the rub, though.
The school's own published curriculum explicitly teaches Zionism, celebrates the establishment of Israel and describes preparing pupils to become "positive advocates for Israel" at university.
It even references bringing in organisations such as StandWithUs to prepare pupils for that advocacy.
Now, let me be absolutely clear. There is nothing wrong with teaching Jewish history, culture or identity. And antisemitism must be challenged wherever it exists.
But when children are actively encouraged to advocate for a particular state, rather than critically examine its history, policies and actions, surely we have to question whether this is education or ideological conditioning?
And here's the staggering hypocrisy.
We're being told that schools must exercise political impartiality when discussing Palestine, while a school can openly describe preparing children to advocate for Israel.
Political impartiality cannot be a principle applied selectively, depending on which side of a conflict children are encouraged to support.
And the BBC has a responsibility to scrutinise that distinction, not simply present children's views without examining the educational environment in which those views have developed.
Children deserve an education that teaches them how to think, not what to think.
