“And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history—money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery—the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.”

Covered CA also automatically sends out voter registration cards. CA Franchise Tax Board pays NGOs $10 million per year to hunt down illegals and register them for a state issued ID # + welfare benefits, and hence voter cards: gwsandiego.net/blog/?p=3771
Democracy continues to die in California.

It's simple. California does not verify citizenship status. We did the work for them. We obtained the registered voter list and told them who we believe are noncitizens on their rolls. Knowingly processing noncitizen ballots is a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. §§ 611 and 2. We will hold election officials accountable. No one is above the law.
BREAKING: In an escalation from the DOJ, prosecutors sent demand letters to individual registrars across California, giving them 48 hours to sequester the ballots of suspected noncitizen voters. sfchronicle.com/politics/art…
Just a reminder, then-Sec. of State Alex Padilla presided over the implementation of motor voter when many illegal immigrants were allowed to register to vote.

Next week the CA Assembly is holding an oversight hearing. The title:
The Tipping Point: Historic Growth, Generational Investment, and Utility Investability
What "historic growth" are they talking about? We're losing population...several years in a row.
Anyway, tune in to hear about what else they're going to tax to not fix all the things they've let fall apart while they build the train tracks to nowhere.

Lawler makes an important, if often overlooked point: That the political cultural divide in CA is now between Performative Ideological Preening vs Fiscal Pragmatism. Preening is winning, but it can't go on forever: "The question is, how much longer will it take for voters to revolt and throw the proverbial tea into the harbor? And who will lead the way?" @lizlawler4AD28

This creative political hit piece by Emma Gallegos asks whether Sonja Shaw can take credit for Chino Valley Unified's strong academic record.
Yes. Yes, she can and should.
Leadership and vision matters. One can see how it's been missing at the State Superintendent of Public Instruction's office for the last 8 years.

Here's the bottom line:
Either Gov. Newsom shows some backbone and opts in to the federal tax credit scholarship and private California money flows to poor public schools or he doesn't and private California money flows to poor public schools in 31 other states.
That's it.

Why is this not self-evidently true?
"It should be illegal for the government unions' endorsed candidates to vote on increased salaries and benefits. In the business world, these kinds of deals would be conflicts of interest and board members would recuse themselves."--Lance Christensen

San Jose is avoiding a strike. But when decision-making councilmembers are endorsed by the unions, are we really getting the best deal?

BREAKING: Katie Hobbs-Aligned Canvassers Caught Willing to Allow Non-Citizens and a Felon to Vote
Muckraker went undercover in Arizona to investigate the groups working to re-elect Gov. Katie Hobbs @katiehobbs and other Democrats.
The full report is quote tweeted below.
Here’s what we found:
Stand Indivisible Arizona (endorsed Gov. Hobbs in its 2026 ballot guide) — Our journalist posed as a Canadian citizen and asked to register to vote. The canvasser not only agreed to help the alleged non-citizen register but also, when asked whether other Canadians could register too, said, "Tell them to do it online."
Worker Power (working to re-elect Gov. Hobbs) — Our journalist told a canvasser they were not a U.S. citizen. Despite this, at our journalist’s request, the canvasser marked “yes” on the citizenship question of the voter registration form.
When We Count (the DNC’s own registration program) — Our journalist posed as a felon on probation and asked to register to vote. The canvassers looked up the law and saw that a felon on probation is ineligible. Even so, they encouraged our journalist to register: “You should just do it.”
AFL-CIO (phone bank mobilizing voters for Gov. Hobbs) — Our undercover journalist asked a phone bank trainer whether to ask the people being called if they're citizens. The trainer’s answer: “We don’t care.”
Our journalists stopped every exercise before any voter registration form was submitted.
We also asked Gov. Katie Hobbs about these findings.
Watch this report and share it with the world.

That's not what's happening.
These irresponsible articles and headlines, which sensationalize serious and nuanced issues, only serve to advance the political objective of hysteria.
Agents access bank accounts with the customer’s permission, but that violates terms requiring human logins, hence the term “unauthorized.”
In this critical time, complicated issues need more the obtuse reporting.

As a convicted criminal and attorney, you should know a federal judge reviewed and approved the arrest warrants for all defendants. We stand by our cases. More arrests of noncitizens who voted in California are coming. We will not let you disenfranchise any American citizen by diluting their vote.
If it ends up being the case that First Assistant US Attorney Bill Essayli falsely charged lawful residents of registering to vote when they did not actually do so, in this highly sensationalized and publicized lawsuit, he should not only lose his bar license, but he should be personally sued for defamation and criminally investigated for misusing his office and the power of the Department of Justice.
