Looking for some recs- my ELA class is reading a novel about a Native American tribe, Nez Perce, and are super interested in naming ceremonies. Does anyone have any local (Southern NJ) connection to a guest speaker who could come to our class and share their knowledge & culture?
Spent the morning @GlassboroPSD observing some amazing educators to help us implement our ELA pilot & the afternoon with some inspirational I&RS team members at @HaddonSchools SJ I&RS Consortium w/ @LinnehanReads & @fellonateach to learn from each other and grow in our roles ❤️
We celebrated #startwithhello and #respectweek @HTWPSchoolsNJ this week and this was our culminating activity 😁
How amazing is this…our local @Wawa called this morning & said they were bringing over coffee and donuts for our whole building 😍 What a delicious and delightful way to kick off Friday of Open House week! #magnifykindness @HTWPSchoolsNJ
First week = our first science lab. Ss had to “save Sam” (gummy worm) using only the tools they were given without touching him, his boat, or his life preserver. One of my fav lessons to teach about persistence, collaboration, scientific processes & not giving up! @HTWPSchoolsNJ

Super busy start to the school year..teaching a different ELA assignment & 4 Sciences, mentoring 3 new teachers, id’ing where my Ss are at & what they need, AND deciding to adopt a 5 month old pup who we fostered this summer when his adoptive family returned him…#pickyourbattles
2021-2022 school year prep has commenced this week! New teacher orientation, setting up my classroom, and writing out these adorable postcards this week… in-service & welcome emails to families next week. Wishing all educators a great school year ahead!! 🏫
Tomorrow marks our last day of this school year… celebrating my students’ successes and accomplishments has never been more important! Desk drumming & all things popping headed their way 😁
This was a good (but long) week... held a Socratic seminar to wrap up our study of the Titanic & made wildflower seed bombs to celebrate #EarthDay
