Hmmm. I just had a bizarre experience, involving a global news organisation and a trillion dollar corporation. (I got caught in the middle, so... owch.) It’s not the sort of experience the people involved usually talk about in public… so I think I’ll talk about it in public. 🧵

My third grader's class had a thing where they all drew self-portraits and you have to guess which one is your kid? And I figured out my own kid, but I'm a little weirded out by whichever 8 y/o drew @cerveris in Fun Home playing nintendo

Headline of campus news story implores students at my uni to "stay vigilant" re: covid. This is the 2nd graf: "Masks are not required in most campus settings. No testing was needed for students to return to UB. Proof of vaccination is no longer required to attend campus events."

I know I'm not alone in finding hypervigilance a really awful working (and teaching/learning) condition. @UB_President, offloading public health concerns onto individual students and staff is hurting us; can @SUNY's flagship show additional leadership?
