#OTD we recognize International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. Sadly, slavery persists in many corners of the world through practices such as forced labour, debt bondage, forced marriage, and human trafficking.

I am beyond excited to see this amazing book #stampedfromthebeginning come to @netflix. This book should be required reading in every educational insititution worldwide. It is time people "unlearn" the damaging myths about Black people and reckon with the harm these myths create.
No words needed. Just know. It’s coming.
Premieres Nov. 10 in select theaters and Nov. 20 on @netflix.
Mark your calendar. #StampedfromtheBeginning 👊🏿

We lay down our arms
So that we can reach our arms
Out to one another.
We seek harm to none, and harmony for all…
Victorious, not because we will never again know defeat,
But because we will never again sow division.

Today Canada elected the first-ever Black Speaker in the House of Commons, and a First Nations Premier for the Province of Manitoba.
Representation matters.
Today is a good day for democracy.

And that's a wrap....Our last session of Student Assessment and Evaluation AQ is over. It was such a pleasure to hear about all the learning our participants had from the course and how they'll action it in their classes and schools.

Justice has yet to be served. This boy's image will forever be imprinted in my brain. Racism has no place in this world.
#EmmettTill was brutalized, dehumanized, and murdered 67 years ago today.
This heinously racist lynching was in response to a lie.
But even if it had been true, Emmett should still be here.
There’s no justification.
The work for justice continues.
Emmett would be 81.
