I was thrown by this picture because that isn't Church Street. Turns out that part of the theater used to face Mass Ave. Billionaire owns the property and has done squat with it for nearly 15 years. mmone.org/harvard-square-the…

It's jarring to see a story like this, as heavy electric trucks are basically an asterisk in the West. In China, they are huge - not just the growth in vehicles, but the infrastructure to charge them. The claimed savings are incredible. asia-tech-news.ghost.io/elec…

The news bots I designed are surfacing many stories like this in Taiwan. Obscure companies in manufacturing are pivoting to supply big semiconductor players like ASE and TSMC. Massive orders dwarf their previous business. Risk: music stops for AI. asia-tech-news.ghost.io/taiw…

"Even if 99% are crap, they still exist in the system, which means they occupy metadata space, compete for keywords, dilute rankings, and trigger recommendation loops. Getting noticed is exceedingly difficult for any individual title, however worthy." shush.substack.com/p/the-yea…

Etsy's take on AI: "AI should support your creativity and craftsmanship, not replace them. Buyers should always be able to understand the role you play in every item you sell on Etsy." Much different than Amazon, where anything goes.

'Trancentral was also the headquarters of KLF Communications for a few years. This was before I became a contractor/employee, first at Lillie Yard studio (cofounded by Hans Zimmer in Fulham) and later in the Brixton Enterprise Centre.' ilamont.com/2026/04/a-deep-d… #klf

I suspect the restructuring is related to Taiwan's moves to strengthen its "non-red" drone supply chain. I'm having my Tbot crew (translation and reporting agents that are part of my new news service) do a deeper dive in the coming week. asia-tech-news.ghost.io/core…

I mentor people through various nonprofits and local universities. 5 years ago I signed up for a national mentoring org, and was rejected, no explanation given. Now they're circling back for a case that requires my expertise. Told them where to look for help, but it's not me.

Completely reworked this story with new angle: small, money losing Taiwan supplier in a field dominated by foreign firms gets solid business from ASE, which does business with Nvidia, TSMC. It's a supply chain/ecosystem story not covered elsewhere. asia-tech-news.ghost.io/loss…

People, check your Wordpress PHP version (site health > info > server) and cPanel PHP management settings while you're at it. There's a major PHP vulnerability in the wild. You (and your hosting company) need to be on top of this.

"Some startups aren’t businesses – they book no revenue, and they may not even have a sellable product. That’s fine, because almost all businesses start with an idea or a dream or a need or pure desperation, and it’s up to the founders to make it work." leanmedia.org/the-difference…

One of my biggest pet peeves: Apple Dictation apparently does a lookup in my address book as I speak, and then swaps in random names for similar sounding words. So, "Loong" replaces "long," etc. And "Allston" (local Boston neighborhood) is always replaced by Austin. Argh!
What will happen first? A) Wispr Flow figures out spell check B) Apple figures out voice typing
67%A) Wispr Flow
33%B) Apple

Another one: A neighbor with the last name "Saitz" now replaces "sites" every time I use Apple dictation.

And: a long-ago Singaporean friend named "Teck" now takes over every single mention of "tech" when I try to dictate.

Looked at the Faire wholesale marketplace and passed. Sound familiar? "The influx of mass-produced goods, race-to-the-bottom pricing, and pay-to-play ad systems make it feel like the name Faire no longer quite fits." And 30%+ fees stacked on top! lightprovisions.com/blogs/bl…

Yes, Amazon profiles you. It also builds sales personas around you that it leverages for extensive personalization, matching you to specific products, books, and product categories. These can be edited or removed in your Amazon account's "About You" page.

Besides being absolutely massive, Neolix's Series E round isn't even about building out manufacturing or the supply chain for the driverless vans. It's about AI training and global service centers. asia-tech-news.ghost.io/neol…
