Although often criticised as "not real archaeology", WW1 and battlefield research through the lens of archaeological remote sensing is gaining more and more momentum in Poland.
Lidar of the WWI battlefield of the Rawka and Bzura Rivers on the Eastern front reveals the complex trenches.
Whilst farming reclaimed much of the Western front, this battlefield was left mostly untouched so all this detail can still be seen.
