I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to get started with Meta VR Glasses development, and one great way is to watch the videos posted during Meta Connect 2026 meta.com/connect/agenda
You’ll find explanations of how to build with Unity, Unreal, IWSDK, and Android, along with deep dives into tools like Meta XR Simulator to help you debug without having to wait for the device.
We haven’t announced it yet, but I am probably going to be doing a live session in 2 weeks for people building for Meta VR Glasses as part of the current VR Competition. I will post more details this week. Stay tuned. I will share a variety of tools and workflows.
Seeing so many companies release XR devices is truly exciting to me. More competition and awareness can help our niche become more mainstream.
With so many people already using Quest devices, I think we’ve come a long way. It makes me wonder if we’re heading toward a future where XR could replace laptops for many of us.
I already do a lot of my prototype work right from my phone using remote agent apps while my workstation stays at home.
Personally, I’m looking forward to sharing more about my workflow on Meta VR Glasses once they’re available to the public. 🚀🕶️
I’ve been playing with this concept all week. It’s still extremely early, but I’m working on a spooky pet you can play with (hands-first) and feed for Halloween. If you feed it and keep it happy, it’ll look happy. Otherwise, it turns into a monster.
I don’t show it in this video, but you can hold out your hand, palm up, and the creature will jump toward it. You can also grab it, and when you let go, it lands beautifully in the MR room, just like a spider.
💡Let me know if you like to see anything in particular? Or feature?
Would love to see this level of quality on XR devices. I can already picture this being available in the near future! 🤯
Introducing Reality-Aware Rendering in @Simulon, a completely new way to create with the real world.
Place neural assets with your phone and act out the scene. When you stop recording, Simulon renders the take, reading everything in it (what you do, what you say and the place around you), and your assets respond to all of it.
The final is regenerated from your recording: a new performance of the scene, not a copy of the footage.
Available now on iPhone. Coming to Android soon.
Congratulations to the XREAL and Android XR teams! Great to see new products launching and more on the way across XR. Love seeing some familiar titles here that are also available on Meta devices!

With all these moves toward AI, I feel like we still need people doing walkthroughs/tutorials of how SDKs, APIs, and tools work.
💡Would you agree that walkthroughs are still very relevant for learning how SDKs/tools work, what APIs are available, and how to use them?

Honestly, you don’t need to have the whole project figured out to start. Pick one XR interaction or mechanic you’re curious about and see where it takes you. I have dozens of unfinished projects, but many of them helped me find just the right idea to push another project to the finish line.
XR devs, here’s a quick tip for today! 👇
Preparing a Unity app for Meta VR Glasses? With Meta XR Core SDK v207+, open:
Window → Meta → Tools → Device Readiness Check.
The standard scan checks project setup and looks for controller-only input in your C# scripts. A useful starting point!
It’s been a while since my last YouTube tutorial! I’ve been heads down building new VR/MR games and creating developer content for Meta Connect, so finding time for my own videos has been hard.
Getting into the weeds is so important to me. Honestly, this time away from YouTube has been the best investment in making better videos. I’ve learned so much by building and testing.
I’m planning to resume tutorials this week, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned!
🚨 If you are a VR developer, how likely are you to use Meta's developer tools and platforms in the next 12 months?
