I rage against the mundane, against the drudgery of monotony and routine. I crave brilliance, intensity and audacity. I must catch lightening in a bottle or be enraptured in the thrill that comes with trying, I live to defy the dull weight of predictability.

A few people have dunked on you, and I don’t intend to add to that. I appreciate your rebuttal, but we’re all on a countdown. Everyone. So get with the programme, but don’t lose your judgement or cede your reasoning. These tools will only get better, which means many of the arguments against them are time-bound. They’re already changing how people work. They’ve certainly changed how I work. None of this should discourage learning, invalidate experience, or diminish the value of your input. But don’t be so dismissive that you fail to recognise what’s happening. It’s a moving train, get on with it or get off its track.

My prediction for software engineering over the next 3 to 5 years. AI won't replace software engineers. It'll drive even greater demand for them. A team of 5 experienced engineers using AI will outperform a team of 20 pre-AI. Which will dramatically reduce the cost of building software. I think we'll see Jevons paradox in action. As something becomes cheaper and more efficient to produce, demand for it can increase dramatically. Thousands of software projects that previously weren't economically viable will become worth doing. The winners will be companies, big and small, that behave like Google, Amazon and 3M, with a culture of experimentation, a willingness to try lots of ideas and the discipline to kill their darlings. TL/DR: Smaller engineering teams, more innovation, more software products, and potentially more software engineers than ever. What do you think?

When you study the Bible and become familiar with what is written, the Holy Spirit can begin to plug those verses, passages and concepts into your mind, in real time, while you’re handling life situations, and if you listen, this is how you are molded to the character of Christ

I believe that 99% of success is just the ability to outlast uncertainty. The one who can tolerate the most uncertainty will eventually win.

Long-term thinking changes your short-term actions. -When you intend to invest long-term, it changes which stocks you buy. -When you intend to be in a relationship long-term, it changes the type of person you look for. -When you intend to stay injury-free for the long term, it changes the type of workouts you do. Build what lasts.

A24 vs. Netflix shows the taste trap tech companies fall into: they want the results of good taste without investing in it. Being a tastemaker means taking risks before the data comes in. Waiting for data means you're not setting trends, you're following them.
If I were Netflix, I would hire whoever is greenlighting and acquiring films at A24. Talk about a studio that knows how to keep budgets under control, generate buzz, and get multiple films into the awards conversation every single year.
