Breaking: The Government is not going to legislate to increase personal injury award levels, in a move that is seen as a major blow to the legal sector.  It comes after a committee of judges had made a controversial proposal to hike injuries award guidelines by almost 17pc.

This is very welcome news. Well done to Brian at @InsuranceRefIre for his leadership and advocacy on this pressing matter.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has informed the Dáil that the government does not intend to implement recommendations from judges to hike personal injury awards by almost 20 per cent.  jrnl.ie/6757737t

There has been a lot of talk about the NOAA Lockheed WP-3D Orion aircraft in Shannon this week. The aircraft, N42RF aka “Kermit” is in Shannon for the next while as they monitor Storm Éowyn which hits Ireland on Friday morning! Q: What do scientists onboard do?🤔 Scientists aboard the aircraft deploy GPS dropwindsondes as NOAA pilot and navigate the P-3 through the hurricane/storm. These instruments continuously transmit measurements of pressure, humidity, temperature, and wind direction and speed as they fall toward the sea, providing a detailed look at the structure of the storm and its intensity. The P-3s' tail Doppler radar and lower fuselage radar systems, meanwhile, scan the storm vertically and horizontally, giving scientists and forecasters a real-time look at the storm. The P-3s can also deploy probes called bathythermographs that measure the temperature of the sea. This aircraft will likely fly into storm Éowyn to study it, I will share tracking details if/when it becomes available! • 📸📹 Video and Image Via NOAA • 📕 Information Via NOAA: omao.noaa.gov/aircraft-opera… #StormÉowyn #aviation #NOAA #Travel #storm #Planes #Ireland #Uk #AviationDaily #StormEowyn #Planespotter

Great news. And Big Relief. Acknowledging too the advocacy and energy of @GraceOSllvn in making this happen. #NatureRestorationLaw
The historic Nature Restoration Law has been passed by the European Council. Our focus now turns to Ireland’s Nature Restoration Plan, which will be developed through a collaborative process that puts the custodians of our lands and seas at the heart.

Heartbreaking to hear first hand accounts on @RTECountryWide of effect of avoidable chemical spill in Duhallow. Fishermen and farmers audibly upset. Decades of remedial work and collaboration undone. Shame. #MustDoBetter @IrishWater

Climate emergency? Don't make me laugh. Additional 657,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum from this newly approved mega data centre in Ennis spread over 145 acres. To add to already massive number of data centres in Ireland. Completely bonkers. thejournal.ie/an-bord-pleana…
