Not a big fan of Russell Brand, never have been.
For over 18 years I have been an Investigator assisting alleged miscarriages of justice. One thing I'm not is a Mr Loophole, I've turned down cases and withdrawn my services when I uncover evidence that suggests guilt.
What it comes down to is "consent", if it is non consensual then its an offence, however if the allegations are due to:
1. Regret the following day - "wish I hadnt, it wasn't that great".
2. Financial gain - £22k compensation
3. Revenge - "should have paid for my taxi home" true case I've been involved in.
4. Family court advantage
5. Mental health
6. Guilt - Suddenly remembers they're married, boyfriend, partner
7. Embarrassment - what will friends I was out with say?
All of the above is not r4p3. It is a consensual act.
All I am saying, there's a lot of men right now who must be terrified of their past one night stands and relationships.
I worry for my 19 year old son and can't stress enough there are young women out there looking for a quick £22k payday.
I'm pretty sure there'll be those coming up to Christmas thinking of costs, suddenly remembers they saw him once in a nightclub twenty years ago.

RTE & Gardai are withholding the fact that next Thursday in the Dublin Convention Centre, the Irish government will be welcoming Nato into the State for the first time in five years. Nato boss Mark Rutte below will be here.
The vast majority (80%+) of Irish people do not want to join Nato.
Russia blames Nato for its war with Ukraine, its casus bellum in February 2022 was clear that it was Nato's expansion into Ukraine which was the trigger for military action - that's debatable but it's not without foundation.

Nato is being welcomed into Ireland for the first time since 2022, with Nato secretary general Mark Rutte set to attend the meeting of the so-called "European Political Community", a group set up in 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and whose focus includes "defence"
No doubt Rutte will be lecturing us about our spending on weapons - €1bn armoured cars, €600m surveillance planes/helicopters, €500m radar to replace the donations to Ukraine, €250m war ship etc - it's just not enough, it's only 0.3% of GDP and Nato wants us all to spend 2%.

Mel Gibson paid Robert Downey Jr.'s insurance bond when no insurer would cover him. Eight years later, with Gibson's own career in ruins, Downey asked Hollywood to forgive him.
In 2003, Downey was coming off years of drug arrests, and no insurance company would cover him on a film set. Gibson, a producer on The Singing Detective, covered the insurance bond himself so Downey could play the lead.
Downey has said Gibson also told him not to give up hope and urged him to find his faith.
The only thing Gibson asked in return was that someday Downey help the next guy.
In 2006, Gibson was arrested in Malibu, and his own career collapsed.
In October 2011, Downey received the American Cinematheque Award and asked Gibson to present it. In the video below, Downey tells the room why he chose him. About that old favor, he says Gibson "didn't imagine the next guy would be him."
Then he urged Hollywood to forgive his friend.
Gibson later told Esquire it was "a bold and generous and kind gesture."
Did Downey owe Gibson that speech, or was it a risk nobody else in Hollywood was willing to take?

These are the details of Russell Brand's rape conviction:
- Brand met a fan at one of his gigs in 2009 and invited her backstage
- She had a consensual threesome with him - "used her tongue on his anus" "within moments" of meeting him
- Days later Brand invited her to his house for sex, she agrees
- The Times attacks Brand in 2022 for joining Rumble and becoming a right wing "conspiracy theorist"
- The Times and Channel 4 colaborate for a big documentary expose in 2023
- Times says it had the allegations since 2019 but waited until his political shift to release them for some reason
- Complainants for his criminal case all come forward after the doc drops, some contacted and encouraged by journalists
- Jury concludes the woman 17 years ago consented to everything except anal sex, at which point she was raped
- Rape charge is bundled with other sexual assault charges, including him grabbing a woman's breasts (which jury concluded was forced) who then gave him oral sex (which jury found was not forced)
Brand now faces anything from 8 to 15 years in jail.

She admitted that w/in moments of meeting RB backstage, she used her tongue on his anus (as another woman was fellating him). She hadn’t even been introduced. When a reporter first contacted accuser about RB she said “I’m not sure my story has much in it; I was an idiot, young & stupid, probably as much to blame.”
