Yet another court confirms that TOS sitting passively at the bottom of a website ("browsewrap") are not enforceable. Here, Brooks Brothers's arbitration clause is useless because the TOS that contain it aren't enforceable.

a new world in the legal industry. not so sure about this. they're buying their trademark and brand, or trying to! I guess it's not worth anything without the lawyers on the platform. * "Crosby, a two-year-old startup whose lawyers use AI to speed up contract review and other legal tasks, has submitted a bid for some of the assets of Weil, Gotshal & Manges following the high-profile law firm’s sudden decision to wind down, according to a person familiar with the bid. Crosby on Thursday submitted a letter of intent to purchase some of Weil’s assets, including internal data, its trademark and its brand, the person familiar with the bid said. Terms of the bid couldn’t be immediately learned. Crosby also hopes to hire some of Weil’s 1,200 lawyers, the person said."

“We’re starving” > 2000 euro Bottega bag
“Your shops that got looted were nice, okay, but we’re starving.” People looked this girl up and her dad is a corporate executive who worked for Shell. What a smug psychopath.

Fit Check of the Week: New White House press secretary Katie Zacharia. As VF style correspondent José Criales-Unzueta notes, Zacharia is a prominent example of the MAGA look. The aesthetic has become a signifier of the Trumpian era, likely because part of the Trump visual language is for women to look and behave in a certain anachronistic, hyperfeminine way, wearing über high heels, more makeup than anyone could ever need, and long, salon-wavy hair in a shade of blond that cannot be found anywhere in nature. Subscribe to Fit Check for more on Criales-Unzueta's breakdown of the MAGA look: vanityfair.visitlink.me/exvk…

My mind isn't made up on this one 🤔
We're suing. Not just CNN. Jubilee and James Talarico, as well. Change My Mind is a registered trademark. I was rejected by cable news for this exact concept. We took the risk. We paid the cost. Now everyone else swoops in with investors and donors, steals it, and profits.

Censorship just never works out
In 1917, a man of German/Jewish ancestry named Robert Goldstein produced a film called The Spirit of 76, which depicted Americans fighting British redcoats in the Revolution. It was meant to be patriotic, to support the war effort as America joined World War 1. But Goldstein was instead prosecuted under the Espionage Act - authorities interpreted the film as anti-British, an effort to undermine our ally against Germany. He was convicted of aiding and abetting Germany and spent 3 years in prison. Ironically, when he was released he moved to Germany to try and renew his film career - but the rise of the Nazis put an end to that, and he wound up fleeing back to the USA.

The Legal AI Wars come to the Third Circuit. In a suit between Thomson Reuters, owner of WestLaw, against legal AI startup ROSS, West wins. Why? We don't know, yet. The opinion is sealed pending proposed redactions. Intriguingly, the district judge was Judge Bibas, by designation

May ROSS, a legal tech startup, use Thomson Reuters/West's headnotes to train it's legal tech AI? ROSS says the case is about the future of AI, but that appearance is deceiving per Judge Montgomery-Reeves. This is a straightforward copyright case. Not fair use. Affirmed!
