Every single left-wing “solution” to the cost of living is the same: subsidize demand, which spikes prices and creates more anger that can be sublimated into more political power by promising more subsidies.

The pre-election polls were showing tremendous enthusiasm among Democrats and other Trump disapproving groups. I checked in at this time in November 2025 and it was already 75%.

Republicans lost midterms not because their voters switched sides, but because Democrat turnout was massive

Of every 100 Trump voters, ~63 voted GOP, 4 voted Dem and 33 didn't vote or went third party. Of every 100 Harris voters, ~85 voted Dem, ~2 voted GOP and 13.5 didn't vote or went third party.
Of those that turned out 6% of Trump voters backed Dems (exit polls put that at 7%)

The concept that Karen Bass lost because of the Palisades fire is arguably not true. Bass actually ended up solidly winning the Palisades and adjacent west side. Where Bass overhwelmingly lost to Nithya Raman is the east side, where there's a dense Hispanic/Latino population who probably don't care about the Palisades fire.

Since 2002, the 2025 Special Election (Prop 50) is the only statewide general or special election in CA where Republicans turned out a lower share of their registered voters than Democrats. If the 2026 General holds, it will be the second.
🚨State Senator Ben Allen has conceded the race for CA Insurance Commissioner to progressive Jane Kim
This is the most important data point of the election.
Yes, the war was unpopular and the messaging was tone-deaf, but how did Democrats turnout 20 million new voters in an off year?
This kind of thing doesn’t just happen, turnout for a mid to low propensity voter averages around $20-$50 per voter.
On a local level, we saw this in Glendale in June—Republican turnout actually increased, but Dems found ~4k brand-new voters. I assumed that was the DSA here, but Dems have that kind of ground game in all the Red States?
No more of these people. Leavitt laughed at Americans who santed affordability and told them to work harder and then quit her job. Now she thinks Americans are not smart enough to know how much money they have. And you all keep defending her

And I think that yes, Ms. Raman is going to “Hot/Cold” Los Angeles itself. She’s also EXTREMELY emotionally fragile because she is a manipulated puppet. Oh wait - no - you’re supposed to say “she’s so GRATEFUL to her MENTORS” - she was part of a *mentorship* program. Probably several.
She’s liable to get trolled into paralysis.
She’s so over her head. I predict staff abuse stories coming. That imposter syndrome’s going to be hard to live with.
Nithya Raman's victory means four years of destructive chaos - and her socialist revolution will leave LA in ruins trib.al/kcypxPj
