Hope can change a life. 💚 Sometimes, hope is the reason someone chooses to stay. It is the reminder that pain is temporary, that support is available, and that a different tomorrow is still possible. #LIVE #SuicidePrevention #YouthMentalHealth

🏆 Honoured to receive the Youth Impact Mental Health Award at the 5th Keturah Mental Health Awards 2026 at Sheraton Hotel, in recognition of outstanding impact in transforming lives of young peope through mental health work. The mental health of young people is central to their ability to thrive. We need to create supportive environments where they feel heard, can seek help without stigma and are empowered to reach their full potential. This is the work I remain committed to. Thank you to the organisers @MMyjourney and everyone who has supported me in this journey. This recognition strengthens my resolve to keep serving. #Vision2040 #MentalHealthMatters #TeenMentalHealth

"We need to have spaces and platforms where people feel free to say, 'Listen, I am hurting.' Where people are able to have spaces to talk from time to time—because when you talk, it helps. This is the first step to killing the stigma about mental health." — @CMawadri

As we come to the end of #SuicidePreventionMonth, I am reminded that suicide prevention cannot be confined to September alone. The conversations, awareness, advocacy, and support we see this month are important, but the need does not disappear when the calendar changes. Young people continue to face challenges that can affect their mental health every day. Some are struggling with loneliness, academic pressure, unemployment, substance use, family difficulties, relationship challenges, trauma, or feelings of hopelessness. Too many carry these burdens in silence, believing that no one will understand, care, or be able to help. No young person should have to suffer in silence. Creating a world where young people feel safe to speak up requires all of us. Suicide prevention is not only the responsibility of mental health professionals. Parents, caregivers, teachers, friends, religious leaders, employers, policymakers, community leaders, and peers all have a role to play. Sometimes that role is knowing the warning signs. Sometimes it is listening without judgment. Sometimes it is checking in, offering support, encouraging help-seeking, or simply reminding someone that they matter. As Suicide Prevention Month comes to a close, let us not allow the conversation to end. Let us continue creating #spaces where young people feel seen, heard, valued, and supported throughout the year. Every conversation matters. Every act of kindness matters. Every effort to reduce stigma matters. Suicide prevention is everyone's responsibility, every day of the year. #SuicidePrevention #YouthMentalHealth #YouAreNotAlone #MentalHealthMatters #HopeStartsWithUs @YouthareUnited @UN4Youth @UNYouthAffairs @IASPinfo @Zer0Suicide @988Lifeline @Zer0Suicide @ypr_national @activecitizensu @Active_Minds @jedfoundation @YMHCanada

September may be over, but suicide prevention is an everyday responsibility. At L.I.V.E, we celebrate the young people who are choosing to speak up, support their peers, challenge stigma, and create spaces where others feel seen, heard, and valued. #SuicidePrevention #YouthLead

We’re talking about mental health, but for the boy child it’s wild—it’s a mess because of so many factors, stereotypes, & expectations held for so long. Therefore, I appreciate men that participate in mental health activities." — @Wonder__jR #BecauseEveryLifeMatters

"The critical issue in mental health interventions is missing the daily distress patterns that happen long before a blowout crisis occurs. These patterns are so often dismissed at home, at school, and in the workplace—right up until a crisis forces us to look." - @LouisElwa

Movement is more than fitness. It is a powerful wellbeing tool. Research shows that physical activity can support mental health by improving mood and promoting emotional wellbeing. Thank you Sukuma team for bringing energy, wellness, to the L.I.V.E Conference experience.

“Mental health is not simply about mental-health disorders; it is also about whether young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to participate in a meaningful life.” — Prof. Eugene Kinyanda, Professor of Psychiatry, @kiuvarsity , and Chairman of the Board, @butabika1955

When young people feel invisible, disconnected, or alone, hopelessness can grow. When young people feel listened to, included, validated, and empowered, hope has a chance to grow too. A conversation, a connection, and a supportive community can change the course of a life.
