A friend of ours lost her husband to Covid. They have a 14, 6, and 1 year old. The mother had Covid also but seemed better. Yesterday she was driving with the 6 & 1 yr old. Felt bad. Pulled over put the car in park and died from a blood clot. 6 yr old called his grand momma.💔

Good thread from well-known cartoonist @jaketapper. Dr. Seuss is not canceled. His estate is discontinuing a few books w/ racist imagery that was, alas, acceptable at the time. The right is fighting to preserve such racist imagery even when its owner seeks reconciliation.
One of the weirdest parts of this culture war is that the self-styled “warriors” aren’t willing to stand by the empirically racist images they’re supposedly defending. Green Eggs and Ham is not one of the books the @DrSeuss Foundation has decided to stop publishing.
