My theory is that they did this to train their AI moderation against adult content. I doubt this is indictive of anything nefarious happening behind the scenes.

Roblox is accused of scraping 145.5GB of 3D models, including 62.6GB of adult content from Open3DLab and two related sites. Open3DLab says the crawler downloaded files from 712 projects, 345 of which contained adult content. The crawler allegedly: • Scanned almost 19,000 projects • Made more than 26,000 requests • Ignored robots.txt and the sites’ rules • Identified itself as being used for “3D foundation model research” • Carried an email address belonging to a Roblox researcher

The most annoying part of talking to AI enthusiasts is how they always do that thought-terminating cliche where they swap the words in your argument with something else. You can say "I'm against AI because it's going to replace jobs." and then they go "I'm against the internet because it's going to replace jobs" without making an actual argument.

This purity spiraling will kill the anti-AI movement. You have to pick your battles, and developers using AI to make something that you can't even see isn't one of them. Who cares if a game has AI generated code if everything else is made by hand?

Hot take: You can't claim to be "Anti-AI because you disagree with generative AI" if you have nothing against "vibecoding with AI" or using AI in programming. Both are usages of AI, in 2 different fields. What's up with these double standards?
