Really exciting new milestone from the Marathon Fusion team. They just beat a 40 year old record.
Proud to be a small investor & supporter. They’re crushing it.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
Obvious the next era of games won't look anything like the AAA studios from the last decade.
They'll look a lot more like the small passionate teams that made Quake, MK, Resident Evil.
Another example of the experience polish in Muse versus Dot:
Dot has no idea about the popout browser Codex uses despite being next to it. Technically makes sense (Dot has its own computer), but it's confusing and shouldn't matter.
Dot is good and the model feels nice, but Muse is actually an excellent consumer product in the way that Instagram & Messenger are.
There’s a pretty big gap.
FWIW my Dot got stuck when customer service said they wouldn’t talk to AI agents. My Muse seems totally fine not even disclosing it and is now fighting Xfinity on a wrongful charge.
Love to see it. Imagine a kid watching a launch one day & understanding they have a small piece of that.
Tech leaders investing directly in American kids will likely end up being one of the most long term consequential things to happen to the US.

Wabi 2.0 is live!
personal agents are one person, one chat. but the parts of life that matter run on more than one person
Wabi is an agent you use together. you talk to it, it does stuff, builds the apps you need, and anyone can join the thread - your partner, your best friend, the preschool moms groupchat
school changes pickup time → Wabi updates the family calendar, everyone sees it.
a show you’d both love → Wabi finds a night that works, gets the tickets.
the trip everyone keeps talking about → Wabi picks the dates, builds the itinerary, books it
go start a thread with your people 👇

Perhaps the best thing to remember when we see riots and arson attacks on historic buildings in France, or hundreds of drug addicts sprawled out on the streets of San Francisco, or thousands of murders per year in America’s cities, is that things don’t have to be this way. There are places in the world that you can visit that are not like this. There are a set of policy choices that we can make at any time that would ensure these things simply don’t happen, if our civilization had the will to enact them

UPDATE - The town hall's historic bell tower in Limoges has collapsed. The building is on the verge of burning down.

Some of the artwork that burned up last night, completely irreplaceable. xitter.cf/DrewPavlou/status/2111…
Every Elon book gets outdated in 5 years.
His Walter Isaacson biography is now missing a lot. Like the part where he built a data center in 3 months, is planning the worlds largest fab, and just drove a car up a vertical ramp and flew it off.

interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had
with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works
