New favourite election moment - @AIannucci shrieking,
“There’s shit in the river!”
and it being a statement of fact as opposed to a Thick of It jokey-joke.

@Aiannucci: The only people refusing to accept Brexit has been a disaster are the two main parties.

the main parties have framed immigration as a negative issue in this election because it's a vote-winner. right wingers don't create racists, they tell racists it's ok to be racist.
in a more decent country, immigration would be championed. but this is not a decent country. this is a country where the main parties have framed immigration as a negative issue to win an election. this is a racist country.
anyway have a great weekend!

Don't judge me on the past says Rishi Sunak, judge me on the future.
The past being things that actually happened, that he did.
The future being lies that will never happen.

Those asking if ‘The Thick of It’ is writing this election may want to note that today’s Tory immigration plan -shunt it off to an independent body to decide, so ministers can avoid talking specifics in interviews- is the main plot of 2009’s special ‘The Rise of the Nutters.’

This is the BBC coverage of the massacre in Rafah:
•an ‘explosion’ killed people;
•repeats IDF propaganda that Hamas are hiding in the tents;
•no mention of Israel ignoring the rulings of the ICC.
The media are complicit in genocide. Expose them.

“I’m so scared, please come,” were some of the last words six-year-old Hind Rajab said in a telephone call to rescuers after her family’s car came under fire in #Gaza City.
Trapped in the vehicle and surrounded by her dead relatives, for three hours she pleaded with the Red Crescent to save her.
The Palestinian Red Crescent relief organization asked Israel for permission to send an ambulance to save the little girl. Yes, Palestinians need a permission to deploy an ambulance too. What happened next is pure cruelty. Israel grants permission, but when the ambulance arrives, they target it.
"We got the coordination, we got the green light," PRCS spokeswoman, Nibal Farsakh, told BBC earlier this week. "On arrival, [the crew] confirmed that they could see the car where Hind was trapped, and they could see her. The last thing we heard is continuous gunfire."
Recordings of Hind's conversations with call operators - shared publicly by the Red Crescent - sparked a campaign to find out what had happened to her.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that it had located its bombed-out ambulance just metres away, and that its two paramedics, Yusuf Al-Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun, had also been killed.
Yesterday, Hind's body was uncovered. The truth is out. She's been targeted and deliberately killed by the Israeli forces. It's their way to play with human life. Because they can. Because no one is holding them accountable.
Let that sink in if it hasn't yet.
