Early morning shout in Longtown. Thankfully a neighbour spotted this which enabled us to make sure everyone and 5 dogs got out safely. A rapid intervention by BA crews contained a serious fire from spreading into the main house.
Great work from Longtown and @FireCarlisle
Just after 5pm last night we were mobilised to an industrial unit fire just outside Longtown. On arrival we were confronted with a well developed fire that was rapidly spreading. Crews from Brampton Fire Station, Carlisle West Fire Station, Carlisle East Fire Station Alston
and may do so for the next 24 hours. Please stay away as the structure is not safe to enter.
On our return to the Station after midnight, we were immediately mobilised in support of Brampton to a re-ignition of fires on Bolton Fell peat moss.
Thanks also to the members of the public who assisted and for everyone’s patience whilst we had the Brampton Road shut down and people vehicles and property cordoned off.
Whilst the incident has been brought to a conclusion, the public may see some smoke still at the premises

Tonight saw the completion of the final day on call at Longtown Fire Station for Watch Manager Kevin Byers. Kevin has been on call at Longtown for 45 years. He will be greatly missed by his crew and community, very few people exemplify service like he has.
Our lad gets his first of the season! All the crew are immensely proud that one of our own, FF Kirkup is making his mark in professional rugby.

Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of SFRS Firefighter Barry Martin who has tragically lost his life following the large fire at the former Jenners building in Edinburgh. Rest in Peace.
Happy New Year from all at Longtown Fire Station. 2022 saw us called out 195 times, so another busy year. We look forward to serving our community in 2023.
That was a solid evenings work! Most of the crew finally got their tea at around 1am after a 6 plus hour shout onto the M6 last night. The driver of this lorry literally won the lottery, walking away with superficial injuries only. Hard graft by @CarlisleEast @FireCarlisle
Longtown were mobilised to a house fire in Gretna this evening in support of our Scottish Fire and Rescue colleagues. On arrival a terraced house was found to be well alight and Breathing Apparatus crews from Gretna and Longtown were initially committed to fight an extensive
