I have no further confidence in James Gunn. Turns out he was only good at making "GOTG" movies. Nothing from the JGU came out well.
DC's CLAYFACE opened to $24M domestic & $46M worldwide on a $44M budget. That's not awful. Will need to stick around awhile to see a cut of the profits. Thing is, WB isn’t mining one of the world’s biggest IP libraries simply to break even. It wants a piece of the pop-culture pie. OTHER MOMMY, also R-rated original with zero built-in IP, opened higher: $27M domestic & now $95M worldwide, on a $19M budget. And it did that with a D+ CinemaScore. CLAYFACE may eventually turn a box office profit. But that still doesn’t mean choosing it as the DCU’s third feature was the right move. Cost containment is not cultural momentum. And that's what WB thought it was getting hiring James Gunn.

Why do games need to function as art? They're supposed to be fun first. I'm personally done with the Hollywoodification of our long-enjoyed entertainment. Forget the big-name A-Listers and stick with unknowns to voice your games. Also, make games fun again, not political.

I think I'd like to go to the next MagicCon in Las Vegas. Completely missed out on the one coming up very soon.

Boy, we really went all in on AI only, huh? Humans matter more than ever before.
Microsoft is offering buyouts to around 60,000 employees in the US, UK, Canada and India. Basically, eligible workers can choose to leave the company with severance and career support instead of waiting for a possible layoff. This comes after Microsoft has already cut thousands of jobs this year while shifting more resources toward AI. Employees have until early December to decide, with departures expected by the end of 2026.

I'm not right wing, but even I get annoyed when people label things they don't like as "right wing." It's lazy, tiresome, and reeks desperation of SEO.
Skydance is making employees come back to the office five days a week, including people working at Skydance Games. The company is also offering voluntary buyouts to reduce headcount, which has led to comparisons with a “soft” layoff strategy. This comes after WB Games already shut down several studios, including Monolith Productions, Player First Games and Warner Bros. San Diego, in 2025.

The End of Bioware.

Emotions run hot and it's easy to blame capitalism. At the end though? The people who pay for the games to play are who keep companies afloat. Without money, companies can't afford their bills and keep their business going. Food has to get on the table and people need a place to sleep. The games industry is not a charity: it's a business. Find the audience you want to appeal to, figure out a reasonable budget, and work your butt off to compel that audience to buy your work.
Tim Sweeney is facing backlash after an old post resurfaced where the Epic Games CEO argued that studios going bankrupt “deserve the axe.” Talking about Looking Glass shutting down Sweeney called it “an economically realistic day” Sweeney also wrote that “a studio that goes bankrupt deserves to be shut down”, arguing that companies that fail financially shouldn’t necessarily be kept alive. His conclusion is that “The dinosaurs die, but the way is cleared for cooler life forms to evolve.”

Any good movies coming out tomorrow? I have a free movie credit to use.

For people to hate on something, they have to care about it first.

Why is Hollywood so creatively bankrupt? Can they not make new IPs anymore? What were they up to when they were "modernizing" all the stuff we loved as students?
Universal Pictures is reportedly in active discussions with Taika Waititi to direct a modernized live-action reboot of ‘BACK TO THE FUTURE’.

I loved BioWare in the 90s and even the early 2000s. Their soul was lost long ago after many founding members left the studio. It was only a matter of time before the studio gave up the ghost. Long live early era Bioware. There was nothing left. godisageek.com/2012/09/ray-m…

Thank you to early Bioware for the first couple of Dragon Age games as well as Mass Effect, Jade Empire and KOTOR. Your contributions will not be forgotten.

Take stock in what you learn in school and at home. Then test those values against the real world. Do those values hold up? If you're that afraid of being tested by horror media, then your values were not that strong to begin with. Confront them.

I embrace horror and media that would ordinarily scare me. It gets the blood pumping and gets me to question the values I grew up with. Then I figure out what's still relevant to me. Only by confronting my values with the real world do I figure out what really matters.

What a bag of crap. As an Asian, I'm disappointed.
Let’s be clear about why Dan Lin is gone: His rigid streaming-first policy completely broke Netflix's relationships with top filmmakers. He didn't just slash budgets; he alienated talent by declaring war on the traditional big-screen experience. He famously told The New York Times, "Filmmakers who still want theatrical... we just won't work with."

I really missed the old Looney Tunes cartoons! Glad to see The Coyote finally getting his due and getting a friend as well.
‘COYOTE VS ACME’ has passed ‘SUPERGIRL’ to become the highest-grossing movie produced by Warner Bros this Summer. The film was almost permanently deleted by Warner Bros for a tax write-off.

James Marsden demanded these 3 specific things from Marvel before returning as Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday after the horrific treatment of his character in X-Men: The Last Stand. After X-Men: The Last Stand killed Cyclops off-screen for much of the movie, fans never felt the character received the recognition he deserved. Now, Marsden is finally returning to the role, and there are 3 things longtime fans desperately want to see: • Cyclops finally gets the spotlight - Scott Summers was supposed to be the X-Men’s field leader, yet the Fox movies repeatedly sidelined him. This time, fans want him to be one of the most important players in the battle, not just another character in the background. • A comic-accurate Cyclops - For years, fans have wanted to see Marsden wear Cyclops’ iconic comic-book costume and unleash his optic blasts without holding back. His return offers an opportunity to portray the character closer to his comic-book counterpart. • The respect his character deserves - Cyclops should be more than the guy standing between Wolverine and Jean Grey. He deserves to demonstrate his tactical intelligence, leadership, and ability to stand alongside the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe. And perhaps most importantly, Cyclops deserves a proper send-off after years of being underutilized. James Marsden has already described his return as a special homecoming to a role that helped put him on the map. Now, Avengers: Doomsday has a chance to give Cyclops what the original trilogy never truly did.

I just saw a Brett Cooper video on dating. The idea of "Entry Level Boyfriend" is disingenuous, dishonest, and a waste of time on men. A man parroting these ideas would have been MeToo'ed in this day and age. I'm sincerely disappointed in this generation.
