It’s reported today that Sally Rooney, who many believe is one of the best authors of her generation, has been advised that because she has expressed support for Palestine Action she could be arrested if she comes to the UK. Because she is donating some of the money from the sale of her books to Palestine Action her publishers have been advised that they too could be prosecuted if they sell her books in any form and so they have removed them from the bookshelves and other outlets. I do not want anyone in the UK to miss out on her wonderful writing and so I thought I would read the first paragraphs of her terrific book “Normal People.” I hope others will read further sections of the book so that people do not lose out on the joy of reading h her works.

Stepping out of character here because this one matters.
Last year, after the passing of Manchán Magan, I put up a post urging men to get the PSA test. One man approached me one morning to tell me he's still here because of it. That's why it's worth doing.
A lot of men fear getting checked because of the finger. But the modern PSA test is a simple blood test, which I show you here. No finger up the bum. Just a quick sample.
1 in 6 of us will get this in our lifetime. Caught early, it's very treatable. Caught late, it's a different story.
Please watch and share. It could save another life.

Doesn’t make sense that anyone who claims to be concerned about the impact of the cost of living would oppose a pay rise for the lowest paid workers in the state (a 79c per hour pay rise in the middle of a cost of living crisis)

How can you pretend to be leading a cost of living protest movement and be against an increase in the minimum wage?
James Geoghegan says restaurants are closing because of high wage costs - but Owen Reidy, ICTU general secretary dismisses the claim as “nonsense”.
