@sbgreenb1 curious what the @apsf thinks. Are lidocaine infusions really that beneficial? Does the risk of toxicity and/or drug error?

The Anesthesiologist: So much more than that person who “puts you to sleep...” 👇🏽

Hey @3M, any guidance on how long the versaflo PAPR filters are good for (in terms of run-hours)? In some ICUs, they are being used 24/7. Anybody know?

MYTH BUSTER: #anaesthesia & #anaesthetists are hard words to say (I’m one & have trouble!) & people are sometimes confused about what we do (even other doctors!) and that’s fair enough, but we are way more than just people who “put you to sleep” for your surgery #covid19aus 1/
APSF is doing an amazing job with their COVID response @APSForg @sbgreenb1. They just released great documents on repurposing anesthesia machines to icu ventilators. Consider donating to the cause

The @IDPH is requiring bouffant caps in OR, despite joint consensus from @AmCollSurgeons @ASALifeline & @aorn that there is no link between type of hat & surgical site infection—based on evidence. Who is regulating the regulators? facs.org/about-acs/consensus…
Hey @SOAPHQ @APSForg @ASALifeline , does anyone else have difficulty w these caps? Could twitter encourage @Teleflex_Anes to revisit the design? @RDMinehart
Hey @Teleflex_Anes @TeleflexInc , your arrow catheter epidural cap is very user unfriendly. Did you consult an anesthesiologist first? Yellow piece has to be pushed down, but no way to grip it! Meanwhile, no way to stabilize catheter while pushing yellow piece. 🤦♂️

How widely adopted does #ERAS “Enhanced Recovery After Surgery” have to become before we simply call it “recovery”? 🤷🏼♂️
So, why do adverse events happen? 1. Misuse of Drugs — polypharmacy, wrong doses, poor understanding of side effects and interactions, etc
