Lessons for male comedians
Today’s lesson: How to make a rape joke funny?
Answer: Don’t make a rape joke
My real hope for this season of #thetraitors is that we see a gorgeous friendship post show between @mermhart and @LeighAnneMusic … because I just think every time the two are on screen together they bring sheer joy!!
There is something we need to ask about the daft decision to cancellation of You and Yours on @BBCRadio4
On other broadcasters Consumer journalism is really landing with audiences in a time where tv viewers are down
And yet this is the area the BBC seems to be culling
The bbc is unique in that because it is licence fee funded (and I support the licence fee a LOT) it requires the output to provide content that appeals to all of society and consumer journalism is an amazing way of doing this!
What unexpected lessons about friendship has hosting the Elbows Out podcast taught me?
While we’re a podcast about ordinary people experiencing extraordinary things… I’ve picked up a few hints on how to form and nurture healthy friendships from guests

Over a decade ago Sarah Stevens lost her oldest daughter Violent to pneumonia. Months later, her second child Arthur was still born.
In the first part of my podcast Elbows Out, I interview Sarah about her experience of child loss

While I didn’t agree with Ann Widdicombe’s politics, my heart goes out to her family and friends. No one deserves to die attacked in their own home. Anyone rejoicing in her passing, in such a way should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
This is honestly the most brilliant and hilarious interview. Count binface going to bat for the old Newsnight and calling the new format a souped up podcast is just *chefs kiss*
This article reminds me why I’m so lucky not to be working in the @BBCNewsnight newsroom any more.
A good journalist does not treat their team badly. Having worked in multiple news rooms I can confirm there is NEVER an excuse for this behaviour

@hannahsbee on these " fundamental failures in what should be basic protocols ".
I’ve worked on a lot of awful stories in my time as a journalist - but this one really was one of the most heartbreaking.
Chris and Jo’s son Leo died of suicide in 2023. In the run up to his death he had been visiting a suicide website. This is their story …
It’s been seven months since I submitted my access to work claim with @DWPgovuk and today I was finally supposed to get a call at 11am. It’s now an hour later and still nothing. No wonder we have so many disabled people struggling to stay in work.
absolutely raging at @Debenhams. Ordered on Monday - paid extra for next day delivery for an outfit that I needed for this weekend. Four days later ,hasn't been dispatched. @Debenhams AI customer service refusing to cancel the order ... and there's no way of contacting an actual human

Still upset by my experience at @gonortheast yesterday. Waited in the queue to get on the bus and as I arrived to the front the queue the driver just closed the doors and drove off… even though it was ahead of the scheduled departure time 1/2
As a journalist I’m currently looking into issues around busses across the country. So if you have had similar problems, or more generally live in an area where poor bus service of any kind is having serious impacts on your daily life - wherever you are, do get in touch
In the meantime I’ll update you on the complaint I’ve made, and the interview request I’ve put to @gonortheast
