I’m really excited to share that I have decided to take a step away from querying agents. After years and years of rejection and fulls being ghosted, I’ve made the choice to self publish Doll Face. I love this story too much to let it sit on a shelf and never be read by anyone

If anyone out there has any advice on self publishing then please message me! I’m excited to embark on this new chapter of my writing career and I hope to publish this and a short story anthology later down the line

Querying and rejections made me completely fall out of love for writing, so I’m hoping that self publishing will help me find that spark again

I’ve been querying Doll Face since May 2024, genuinely believed this was the book that would land me an agent. My full has been ghosted and the other queries are all rejections or no responses. I find it really hard to write anything now. You’ll know when it’s time to shelve☹️🥲

At what point do you stop querying? Or know if a book isn’t working in the trenches? Genuinely don’t think my mental health can take much more. I always start out so optimistic. It’s soul-destroying🫠 #WritingCommunity #amquerying

Should I take it as a ghosting if an agent has had my full manuscript for 11 months?☹️ #amquerying

When lonely Sabrina inherits creepy doll Mabel, she’s the butt of the jokes from her so-called friends. The more obsessed Sabrina becomes with Mabel, the more she changes to look like the doll. Mabel wants to play, but it's a game Sabrina might not survive. #PitDark #YA #H
