The VP of the United States shouldn't be retweeting this straightforwardly authoritarian position advocating ignoring judicial orders. The "credibility" referred to below is also known as the "rule of law." If you don't agree with a judicial decision, the lawful course is appeal.
What if the judicial decision is lawless? A key component of the constitutional framework is judicial modesty, which is backed up by the fact that the judiciary has nothing to compel obedience, except its credibility. See, I’m a lawyer too, but the difference, Adam, is that I’m a good one @hughhewitt

nate my dude "hacks from both sides thinking X is good for their team" applies to literally everything
That the most hackish partisans on both sides invariably think the early voting numbers are great for them tells you all you need to know about the utility of looking at early voting numbers.

Obvious substantive issues aside: that citation signal shoulda been a cf. not a see.

The moment I became the Joker is when someone in charge of copyright law watched my GDC talk about how it's wrong to associate emulation with piracy and their takeaway was "emulation is associated with piracy."

guessing this is partly why amazon kindle is consistently the most power-hungry app on macOS. either that or jeff is using my GPU to mine crypto or something (it forces the use of discrete graphics card so....)

Do any tech law reviews publish book reviews? Looking to pitch a review of a new book on the legal history of videogames.

We had Phantom Spark on our Backpack Arcade during @gamescom. People got crazy for that racing game and beating one highscore after another. #AMazeRecs

Why do some games just keep selling, years after release? I tried to figure it out, and found some crazy charts along the way. pushtotalk.gg/p/on-perennial…

One thing, though: As far as I can tell, the main authority for the position is a student note. Don't ever say student notes have no influence.

actually they decided that looking at his beliefs about doing this would be unconstitutional as hell but everything else about this scenario is constitutional but pointing that out is very rude and hysterical, thank you very much

Replying to @barbri
@barbri 's DRM'd out online PDF viewer often takes 30+ seconds to load a page, has basically no hyperlinked navigation (so you need to flip through many pages), and often gets into a loop where all navigation forwards and backwards stays on the same page.

this combined with the paragraph of watermark on every page if you print to PDF makes it the absolute worst DRM setup for consumers i've ever encountered. rooting for them to get sued into oblivion for ADA violations, personally. it was usable just 4 years ago.

barbri has really jumped the shark. none of their apps are consistent with each other, don't track progress accurately across platforms, don't have handouts available from some platforms, constantly signing out, terrible DRM for offline, watermarks everywhere.

also, I just don't understand why barbri consistently refuses to produce usable outlines. rewriting a textbook of information for each subject using headers isn't an outline. i don't want "fill in the blank." i want a usable outline.

it's also remarkable how much worse the content for the louisiana bar is from UBE states. if there's 25% of the video content, i'd be surprised. i hear it's nevertheless the best bar prep for the state.

Civilization VII was announced today. The Civ series is sort of like Ender’s Game, but for management rather than murdering aliens. Business school students who were good at Civ V also turn out to be better planners, organizers, and problem-solvers, in this small experiment.
