Yesterday, we assisted the Jefferson Fire Company with a commercial building fire in West Norriton Township. Responding Department of Public Safety units included FieldComm 1, our UAV (Drone) Team, Hazardous Materials Response Team, and Urban Search & Rescue Team.

Members traveled to Appleton, WI for the final inspection of our new 2026 Pierce Enforcer Rescue Pumper. It’ll be designated Engine 66; it is expected to go in service late spring 2026. It replaces our 2010 KME, now serving Pleasant Grove VFD in NC. More details soon!

Our US&R Team recently partnered w/ @UpperMerionPD, Conshohocken FD & @NorristownFire to hold a joint high-profile vehicle training. Due to the extreme heat, participating agencies agreed that members wouldn't wear dry suits for the drill, typically standard PPE for water rescue.

On Thurs, our UAV Team assisted @providence53 w/ a brush fire in Valley Forge Nat'l Park. Drones providing standard & thermal imagery were used for situational awareness & assisted w/ tactical planning to locate a cut line/stop fire advancement. The team was in service for 2.5hrs

Last night, we assisted @NorristownFire w/ a bldg fire on Dekalb St. We deployed FieldComm1, as well as our Matrice 300 & tethered FotoKite drones to provide situational awareness. Members of our IST were also onscene to assist. Our thoughts are w/ all those affected by the fire.

On Tues 10/1, our HazMat Team traveled to @veneziainc to review bulk transport trailers. Trainings like these allow us to become familiar w/ valves, piping, domes, emergency shut-offs & operating pressures/temps prior to response. Thanks to Venezia for this training opportunity!

During the storm standby on Tuesday night, our Urban Search & Rescue Team took the opportunity to work with K-9 Nola on some basic training. At only 10 weeks old, Nola is already sitting on simulated rubble, finding hidden items, and is ready to go boating! 🐶
