Building practical software for African businesses. At @LWEGATECH we’re creating BORAsuite — a growing set of tools designed to help businesses run better day-to-day: • #BORApos – Point of Sale & inventory • #BORAinvoice – Invoicing & billing • #BORAlearn – Learning & membership systems • #BORApharma – Pharmacy operations …and more products in the pipeline. Our focus is simple: technology that simplifies the work people already do, instead of trying to replace them. If you’re building, running, or supporting businesses in Africa, you’ll find practical product lessons, SaaS building stories, and real-world observations here. Great article
How should an early SaaS approach marketing with AI? Start simple: understand what users actually do, create content around their real questions, and test paid acquisition without losing sight of product usage. Including prompts for AI agents.

I'd offer a sandbox with 5 sample products and opening stock already loaded. Let them add one of their own products, enter its quantity, and complete a test sale to see stock change. Keep it separate from live inventory, then offer CSV import or paid setup for the full catalogue.

Your SaaS application may be available 24/7. But can a new customer actually register, subscribe and start using it at 2 AM without your team being online? #SaaS #StartupJourney

When we started building #BORAsuite, we didn't have all the answers about subscriptions, freemium accounts or customer onboarding. And even today, we're still adjusting our approach based on experience and customer feedback. One lesson I'm learning: You don't always launch with the perfect SaaS business model. Sometimes you discover it while serving your customers. Keep building. Keep learning. 😂

Hosting providers on @X , what's the worst server security incident you've ever handled?

We're introducing a new registration flow for #BORAsuite: Register → Select Plan → Pay → Onboard. Previously, customers had to wait for administrator activation. But there's another question we've been debating: Should customers pay before experiencing a #SaaS product, or should onboarding come first? Fellow founders, which model has worked better for you? #SaaS

One thing we're introducing at #BORAsuite has additional subscription time. Our proposed incentives: Monthly, quarterly and half-year subscriptions get one extra month free. Annual subscriptions continue receiving two extra months free. We're exploring ways to encourage customers to commit while making our products more accessible. SaaS founders, have bonus months helped your subscription conversions?

WordPress owners, pay attention to your /wp-content/ directory. Especially: /plugins/ /themes/ /uploads/ Outdated plugins and themes are common attack entry points, while attackers may hide malicious files in writable upload directories after a compromise. Have you ever audited what's sitting inside your WordPress installation? #WordPressSecurity

I just crossed 9K followers on X. I asked Grok Bot to analyze the locations of my followers (the ones who share them). Apparently, people from 127 countries are following this random guy building stuff on the internet. 127 COUNTRIES. 🤯 I wish I could buy you all a coffee and thank you personally. Thank you for being part of this journey. I genuinely mean it. ❤️

When a hosting server is compromised, the damage isn't measured only in CPU usage or downtime. There's the time spent investigating, customer confidence, business reputation and revenue at risk. Security isn't just an IT expense. It's business protection.

The mist is starting to clear out your road .......... soon you will be able to see a $1000+ sign ahead .....👏
I'M FINALLY ESCAPING $0 MRR! 🎉 After years of building products that nobody paid for... Banger Kit just got its first paying customer! $19 MRR.

Which CMS (content management System) would you trust most for a security-conscious business website? WordPress? Drupal? Joomla? Custom? Or a managed website platform? My view is that the platform matters, but maintenance, extensions, hosting configuration and access controls matter just as much.

Take care of your Website(s) at all times. One neglected WordPress website can become everybody's problem on shared infrastructure. An abandoned plugin or vulnerable installation may look harmless until someone exploits it. Website owners, when did you last check your plugins and themes? #WordPress #WebSecurity

Subscription Models - Removing the Administrator From the SaaS Onboarding Journey #MondayBusinessWithLJB Last week, my team and I agreed to make an important change to how customers register and subscribe to our BORAsuite products; BORAinvoice, BORApos and BORApharma. Our current registration flow has been: Register → Verify Email → Wait for Administrator Activation → Start Onboarding. This has worked reasonably well, but over time, we discovered one serious bottleneck. If the LWEGATECH team is offline, a new customer cannot start using the product. 😂 Now imagine someone registering from the USA while our team here in Uganda (GMT+3) is fast asleep. That customer may have to wait several hours before getting started. And for a SaaS business with ambitions beyond its local market, that's a serious limitation. Over the past few months, I've also been asking myself many questions about Freemium vs Premium subscription models. Some of you have probably seen those discussions here on @X. But those questions weren't just for engagement. They were part of an ongoing conversation with myself and our team about how to make #BORAsuite more sustainable, scalable and convenient for customers. So we've agreed to introduce a new registration flow: Register → Select Subscription Plan → Pay → Start Onboarding. No more waiting for manual administrator activation. We've also decided to remove mandatory email verification during initial registration to reduce friction and allow customers to move through the process more quickly. And to encourage customers getting started, we're introducing some subscription incentives: Monthly, Quarterly and Half-Year Plans: Get one additional month free. Annual Plans: Continue enjoying two additional months free. The goal is simple: Allow customers to get started whenever they're ready, regardless of where they are in the world or whether our team is online. Of course, removing the administrator from the onboarding journey doesn't mean removing our responsibility to support customers. It means allowing the system to handle the routine steps automatically while our team focuses on helping customers who genuinely need assistance. I'll be the first to admit that when we launched these products, we had many questions without clear answers. How should we structure subscriptions? Should we offer freemium accounts? At what stage should a customer pay? How much of onboarding should be automated? And how do we make the experience simple enough for someone registering from another country, perhaps while we're asleep? 😂 But conversations with fellow developers, #SaaS founders and, most importantly, feedback from our customers have helped us find better ways forward. And that's one thing I'm learning about building SaaS. You don't always launch with the perfect business model. Sometimes you discover it while serving your customers. We're still building, testing and improving. To my fellow SaaS founders and developers: What do you think of this new registration and subscription flow? Would you introduce payment before onboarding, or allow customers to experience the product first? Looking forward to learning from your experiences. Have a wonderful Monday, friends! 🚀 #SaaS #MondayBusinessWithLJB #BORAsuite #BORApos #BORApharma #BORAinvoice #StartupJourney #LWEGATECH

Whoever popularised the phrase "Let's Connect" here on @X deserves a thank-you. 😂 Because people from different countries, professions and backgrounds are connecting every day. Developers meeting founders. Founders meeting customers. Learners like me learning one or two things here.

PHP has played a major role in the growth of content management systems. From the early days of the web to today's popular platforms, PHP-based CMSs have been everywhere. Personally, I started with #Joomla, explored #Drupal for a short while, and eventually moved to #WordPress. Which CMS did you start your journey with? #PHP #WebDevelopment

One of PHP's greatest advantages was its close relationship with the LAMP stack. Linux. Apache. MySQL. PHP. That combination helped power an enormous part of the early dynamic web. I know many younger developers may never have deployed applications using the traditional LAMP setup. But bruh, back then, that combination ran with authority online! 😂 Who here still deploys applications on LAMP? #PHP #Linux #WebHosting

Am planning to get myself #Dell desktop for home and office, 2027 I dont want to be moving with a laptop anymore. I should be able to sync my work perfectly well without moving with laptop. But I need some advice from fellow developers. For coding and long working hours, would you recommend a #curved monitor or a traditional #flat screen? And why?
