1. Clarity, even if you don’t like the answer, is a gift.
2. The only person/situation I can control is myself.

I’m very direct. But I’m also really kind. I use language that reflects both. I try my best not to imply judgment. So I will generally say. “This particular thing doesn’t work for me”. I also state what I need instead. And ask for agreement from them, for accountability purposes.
