I published a paper with @GHunter_1 on #COVID19 infection fatality rates (IFR), based on work we did early in the pandemic. The specific estimates have been overtaken by new data, the variants, etc., but there are still some interesting lessons in it: pubsonline.informs.org/doi/1…

A #PSA to anyone left on #ottbike and #ottwalk - the Trillium/Gladstone crossing signals are active. HOWEVER, the set of beg buttons closest to the bike path appear to be for pedestrians crossing the path E-W, not cyclists crossing the road N-S.

The cyclist in front of me pressed the E-W button, so I snuck up onto the sensor for the light to actually change.

Bikes and scooters were definitely going east in that future westbound lane regardless. The sidewalk is open as far as Bayview, but the bike path is not complete - please be respectful of #ottwalk , #ottbike !

You know it’s wild out there for an #ottbike when the safest route home from Centretown to Mechanicsville with a kid on the back and kid’s bike on front was Somerset, Preston, and on the road for part of Albert. Sigh.
