✍️🗣️Jackie Lis is a story a lot of players can learn from, young or old. A ball player, plain and simple. No position labels, she isn’t scared to compete. Just let her play and she won’t look back. She was a career SS/MIF at Southern Illinois. Came to Texas Tech because she wanted the chance to play for a championship. No true position available. Two weeks in she was the team’s starting first baseman. Didn’t give the job up from there and played there through the WCWS, her first trip there, her dream. She didn’t just play either, she earned NFCA All-America honors. Then she made a pro roster off the reserve list. Her versatility helped her play 1B for the Volts until their vets returned. After that her versatility kept her on the roster, she stayed ready and when they needed someone at third she said “I got it coach” and all the sudden she’s dropping web gems at third and driving in runs at the plate like she’s always been there.

She is a ball player. And she wasn’t afraid to prove that at Texas Tech for a shot at her dreams. And certainly not now as a pro. 👏👏👏 x.com/AUSL_Volts/sta…
