A low-prep, easy to differentiate activity! Thanks for sharing @MsAmber_teacher
Roll, read - and SPELL! Another twist on such a great @UFLiteracy activity! Students take turns rolling the dice, reading the word to their partner - and then their partner has to spell the word! #UFLI #UFLIfoundations #Grade2 #digraphs #literacy

Anyone?
If anyone has extra (not being used) Twister mats lying around, we can repurpose to make sound boxes (Elkonin boxes!)! We’d be happy to take them and use them at school!
Sound blend JENGA! Students build their Jenga tower, remove a block and have to say the sound. Students have A R L F and O as their letters in this week’s Jenga. I used masking tape to add sounds to the blocks so I can switch them next time students play. @KanataHighlands #ocdsb

Love this multi-sensory approach!
Press the play dough « buttons » and say the sound. Slide your finger across the arrow to erase the dry erase marker and say the sound blend. This week’s sounds are a l r f - we practice blending and segmenting sounds with each. You can do this activity at home! @KanataHighlands

As we talked recently about valuing learning & gifts…my 8yo rushed in afterschool to announce: “guess what I can do?! I can burp!” And darn he’s proud of it.
