🎥 | Juanjo talks about his upcoming single "Pobre de mí" (via @Cadena_Dial) J: So, the album… oh my god, it’s just so crazy hearing you talk about this, it’s been a secret for so long… well, let’s see… 👩🏼: So there we have it! Juanjo Bona, we’re here in Zaragoza and I don't think there could be a more beautiful place for you to make the announcement you just made J: Absolutely! Woah I’m nervous, this is just so insane 👩🏼: I don’t blame you. This is a song where you really bare your soul, quite literally J: Yeah, and it’s not just that I’m opening up, but at least it gives the audience an idea of what the album is going to be about. I touch on a lot of different subjects but this is definitely one of them: how I’m feeling right now and how I finally feel ready to talk about it 👩🏼: That’s so important. That’s the key to “Pobre de mí” which, as you said, is the first taste of your new album, coming in 2027 J: In the first part of the year 👩🏼: Before summer? J: Yeah, of course! I’m hoping I’ll be able to play some shows even before summer 👩🏼: That incredible aesthetic, especially the giants and big-head figures, which has really struck a chord with people here (in Aragón). What are you trying to convey through that? And will that aesthetic also be part of the album? J: Well, I was inspired by a very famous Zarzuela from here [note: zarzuela is a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre similar to opera], called "Gigantes y Cabezudos". And once you hear this first song you'll understand why it makes sense that I’ve started telling stories using this whole world of giants. For those who might not understand the whole giants thing: giants have always fascinated me. The big-head figures too, but I want to focus more on the giants because they’re even bigger, more epic characters, both musically and just as figures in general. And then there's the whole experience of getting inside a giant and coming back out of it. It's all very connected to the single and I think that's such a… 👩🏼: It's like all the stars have aligned J: Yeah, because I start doing things kind of randomly, but then, little by little everything starts to come together and make sense 👩🏼: And later on it's all going to make so much sense. You know who's a giant? You are, Juanjo Bona! J: Well, you are too! You too! Even more than me! 👩🏼: You're amazing, my god! J: Oh god 👩🏼: “Pobre de mí” (poor me)… and poor anyone who misses this song! Anyway, we'll share all the details here on Cadena Dial. Congrats! J: Thank you darling. Look, someone's already knocking at the door 🔗 Full video: instagram.com/reel/DfH1qSPO-…
