Change is possible, but it requires courage. Philea invited our co-directors, Saranel Benjamin and Happy Mwende Kinyili, to reflect on 40 years of Mama Cash. In their piece, they share stories of lives transformed and emphasize the need for funding that is daring. Their message is clear: bold ideas need bold funding. Disabled women deserve justice and equal rights. They face high risks of violence, discrimination, and exclusion, with laws often failing to recognize or protect their rights. In Bangladesh, the Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF) is fighting to change this, pushing for legal reforms that ensure safety, dignity, and equality for all. Your donations sustain WDDF’s fight to break legal barriers and demand justice. Together, we can create a world where every woman is safe and valued. 🔗 See the impact of your support in ‘CHANGE THAT LASTS: 40 YEARS OF IMPACT’ and how WDDF is driving change for disabled women in Bangladesh. fortyyearsimpact.mamacash.or… #DisabilityJustice #LegalReform #WDDF #FeministAction #MamaCash

🌍 Feminist movements drive transformative change but face funding barriers. Aid systems often reflect colonial legacies, excluding feminist organisations in the Global South from essential resources. In Lilith Mag, our Co-Executive Director, Saranel Benjamin, alongside former diplomat To Tjoelker, reflects how we can shift power and resources to feminist movements. 💔 Women with disabilities face exclusion in healthcare, education, and employment. They are often left out of decisions that shape their lives. For decades, Mama Cash has funded grassroots movements fighting for their rights. We’ve given over €6.1 million in grants to organizations led by and for disabled women and girls. This ongoing support has sparked big changes, opening doors to better healthcare, stronger policies, and legal protections for women with disabilities. 💪🔗 Discover how our funding supports disability justice and creates real impact in ‘CHANGE THAT LASTS: 40 YEARS OF IMPACT’ fortyyearsimpact.mamacash.or… #DisabilityJustice #FeministFunding #InclusiveSociety #MamaCash #ChangeThatLasts

🙌 Thanks to YOU, since 1984 Mama Cash provided over €26.9 million to organisations fighting gender-based violence in 162 countries! This is what happens when we are in unity: real change and protections for those who are most marginalised and targeted. But progress made is under threat. Anti-rights movements rising everywhere in the world are imposing regressive policies, undermining civil rights and depleting essential funding for social and gender protections for women, girls, trans, and intersex people. Feminist activists need our support more than ever. 👉Help us raise funds through donations bit.ly/4eFSsMc or start a fundraiser. bit.ly/3Oqs12i #FeministFunding #FeministFund #FeministPhilanthropy #ShiftThePower #fundLBTQI #MamaCash40Years

🌟 At #AWID2024, Mama Cash’s Participatory Grantmaking Committee (COM COM) held a powerful session on grassroots-led participatory grantmaking. Activists took center stage to explore transformative donor relationships, funding geopolitics, and decision-making complexities. 🔍 Together, we asked critical questions: ⚫ How do we empower activists as decision-makers? ⚫ How do we navigate biases and diverse feminisms? ⚫ How do we address discomfort around money? ⚫ How do we ensure true representation in decision-making spaces? ⚫ Should compensating activists even be a debate? 💡 The session didn’t offer all the answers, but it opened space to share, challenge, and learn. Let’s keep the dialogue going. How do you envision building trust and accountability in participatory grantmaking? Share your thoughts below! 💜 #ParticipatoryGrantmaking #GrassrootsLeadership #FeministFunding
