New Yorkers with disabilities have a right to live and thrive in their own communities.
I visited AHRC New York City at their multi-service center in Brooklyn to hear about their exceptional programs, hear from self-advocates, and share my commitment to protecting disability rights and bolstering community-based support.

Today, I co-chaired the Mental Hygiene budget hearing and questioned @NYSOPWDD Commissioner Neifeld about the I/DD workforce crisis. DSPs need a DSWE and 3.2% COLA to counter stagnating wages and the high cost of living. (1/2)

We’re glad the White House recognizes the value direct care workers bring to all of our lives. It’s time for @GovKathyHochul and NYS lawmakers to do the same. Support the 8.5% COLA in this year’s budget!

Great meeting @AHRCNYC on urgent need to increase pay for direct support professionals who care for people with disabilities.
Years of disinvestment have forced many out of the field. @NYSA_Majority included an 8.5% COLA in our one-house. It must be in final budget!
