With tourism floundering, Hawaii believes a young group of whip-smart engineers and skilled workers can rebrand the state as a high-tech hub. 🔗: on.wsj.com/4xSeZzt

I've made a whole range HMD concepts over the years so thought I might start to share some. This is an early stage foam VR concept based loosely around bigscreens tech stack.

It's kinda annoying how much I obsess over spatial hardware, but I learned a lot trying to recreate Meta's incredible Orion prototype for my own collection. I made a printable version for those who share this illness. Some caveats in the comments. we.tl/t-3dCopJ6EbI

I've improved the hinge to make it more sturdy. V2 Download here. @willyayy let me know how it is. we.tl/t-Ya0hoyAWXE

- This is just a model made by me from images, and is almost definitely way off in sizing and detailing. - The hinge in the printable version is different to the official design. - I haven't yet printed it myself due to a broken printer, but i recommend resin if you have it.

Desperate to get my hands on Orion, so Im attempting a rebuild. Still not quite there yet but will post a printable file for those who want to see how small this thing is. Long shot but does anyone have a top down photo?

Damn, can’t believe I joined 13 years ago. It was for the small AR community that was here ( mostly magic leap stuff) amazing to see how it’s grown #MyXAnniversary

Really inspired by Meta’s Design here. The sober design focuses on user experience while feeling fresh. It’s impressive how this tech, which could easily feel overwhelming, has been distilled into something approachable and purposeful. Excited to see how they refine it further

Incorporating the Carbon 360 design team (the folks who made the Xbox 360 controllers) into Occulus was a great move, and I can see they’ve learnt lots from the partnership with ray-ban also. Apple have competition and it’s great for design !

Cut from the same cloth. Every piece in the modular LoveFrom, MONCLER collection is crafted from a single piece of fabric that fastens, folds, and zips for ultimate hybrid function. Sir Jony Ive and Moncler: a seamless connection, coming soon.

Really impressed by the new calculator for IPad. Comparative and dynamic learning like this really helps to make maths more understandable and intuitive.

I’m looking for inspiration and would love to see some of your favourite uses of colour in products. One of mine is the anodised aluminium Iris table from @barberosgerby

This new range from IKEA for me shows the continued trend of gaming working its way further into our culture, now becoming part of the living room aesthetic and furniture. theverge.com/2024/4/15/24130…
