The next step in testing our new ROV and USBL system involved a trip down the harbour wall to get the ROV in the sea. The USBL system will allow us to get a GPS location of the ROV, and therefore a position of any horse mussels we see.
What a day yesterday! After seeing gannets dive all day we were treated to two feeding minke whales!

On #EarthDay2024 @scotgov has confirmed that the sale and supply of wet wipes containing plastic will be banned in Scotland.
Ministers will introduce regulations by the end of 2024 with the ban due to come into force 18 months later.

This ban delivers on an important commitment in our Marine Litter Strategy and builds on previous actions to ban unnecessary single-use plastic items."
#EarthDay = #PlanetVsPlastics To help raise awareness & inspire change we are sharing a project from a @EdinburghUni student who found #microplastics in velvet swimming crab digestive systems & gills. And pictured are examples of microplastics in coral species in Guadelupe.
