RC only for now. Test carefully. Final date not set yet.
PSA: The @Omarchy package server seems to have some problems right now. π¨
Updates may fail with timeouts.
"Started production of @Tesla_Optimus on our high-volume lines in Fremont."
Optimus V3 is already in production! That means the official presentation must be pretty close.
I'm thinking maybe next month.
Q3 Shareholder Update β ir.tesla.com
Highlights
β FSD Supervised attach rate grew to over 75% of new vehicle deliveries in NA
β Unveiled the next-gen Roadster
β Record deliveries in Canada, Australia, Japan & Taiwan
β Tesla Semi now in volume production. Top variant can go up to 500 miles at a full 82,000 lbs while achieving efficiency of 1.7 kWh/mile β about a third of the energy a comparable diesel truck burns for the same load
β Ended the quarter with the largest backlog for our passenger vehicles in 4 years!
FSD Supervised
β 4 new approvals since Q2 (Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia)
β FSD is now live in nine EU countries & used by over 100,000 customers logging more than 160 million kilometers since initial approval
Robotaxi
β Deployed Cybercab into our Austin fleet
β Hit nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised miles, 8x growth in the quarter
β Austin service now runs 6 am to midnight, with wait times continuing to come down as we add cars & improve the orchestration algorithms
β Added Grok to Cybercab with Grok Bot & Connectors, letting you interface with your inbox, calendar, files, chats and tasks, all by voice.
Transport, office & living room in one
Robotics
β Started production of @Tesla_Optimus on our high-volume lines in Fremont.
These are the first production-quality bots we've built, proving that the current manufacturing process for Optimus is suitable for a commercial product
SI Compute
β On track for 400 MW of training compute by year end, feeding both vehicle & humanoid autonomy
β Austin Fab construction continues, equipment commissioning planned for 2027
Battery
β Battery supply is still the limiter on how fast we ramp vehicles globally, so we're expanding on every front: pack capacity in Berlin, cathode and lithium refining in Texas, LFP cells in Nevada
β Shipped the first Megapacks built entirely with our own LFP cells
β Increasing 4680 output to support ramp of Cybercab, Semi & Model Y
Energy
β Megafactory Texas is up & running, with Megapack 3 production started
β Highest-ever order rate & backlog for energy storage
Grid constraints & power availability are making Megapack the answer for SI infrastructure demand: it excels at supplying large data center loads,Β smooths out demand spikes, helps new projects meet grid connection rules & makes the grid itself more stable
All with less local fossil fuel generation
Supporting Infrastructure
β Added 2,100+ net new Supercharger stalls, up 14% year over year
Grok Bot 0.71.2 just dropped! π
What's new:
β’ Files up to 250 MB, videos up to 1 GB
β’ 20 attachments per message
β’ 200 plugin skills (up from 24!)
β’ Smarter desktop notifications
β’ Tagged email addresses for Bot routines
β’ Voice calls reconnect automatically
The pace is nuts!
Meta has paused sharing of Muse chats!
The security firm Claroc found more than 6,800 shared conversations that anyone could open without logging in. They found them through public DNS records.
Hitting "share" on an AI chat may be the same as publishing it.
Bye-bye, BioWare. In the end, it was just a shell of its former self, taken over by woke activists.
The real BioWare died long ago.

Gemini 4 Carbon may be coming rather soon from @GoogleDeepMind! π§¨
I assume this would be named Gemini 4.1 Carbon? Or maybe Carbon is another class but in the 4.0 family. Like Astra basically. idk, you tell me.
Codex can now check your website for PHP security issues! It's a packaged skill.
Probably a good idea to use it now:
If you are wondering whether your website is affected, we have packaged a Codex skill to help check.

Kling 4.0 just dropped!
The next-gen multimodal video model promises major improvements in complex motion, character and scene consistency, and precise cinematic control.
AI video generation keeps getting better at an incredible pace!
Google and Meta just made switching away from Nvidia a lot less painful. Google has open-sourced TorchTPU, developed with Meta's PyTorch team, so existing PyTorch workloads can run natively on Google TPUs with minimal code changes. It integrates with familiar tools including Hugging Face, vLLM and SGLang, covering both training and inference.
RadixArk says its SGLang integration already runs in large-scale production at Meta. The same serving codebase now works across GPUs and TPUs, with features such as prefix caching and speculative decoding. Meta's PyTorch engineering director puts the motivation plainly: "We cannot be constrained by a single hardware architecture."
I'm honestly surprised to hear that PHP is still powering 70% of all websites! That's really strange to me.
Why is PHP still so popular?
I'm a fan of the @ChatGPT desktop app, but it really is rather sluggish. Performance is not great, especially with rendering and such. And images are also slow to load.
AI/SI users are incredibly fickle, especially here on π. Sentiment can shift dramatically in a matter of days, and yesterday's favorite can quickly become today's disappointment.
I follow this space very closely, and I've noticed some interesting trends in how users currently feel about the major AI players:
π’ Grok Bot: Overwhelmingly positive sentiment. Users are raving about it, and the user base is growing at an astonishing rate.
π’ Anthropic / Claude: Very positive. Opus 5.5 has earned a reputation as the best coding model, and developers seem genuinely impressed.
π΄ OpenAI: Sentiment is turning increasingly negative. Users are frustrated with usage limits, disappointing coding performance, and persistent Codex bugs and usability issues.
π΄ Google / Gemini: Surprisingly negative sentiment, even after the release of Gemini 4 Argon. The new model hasn't really turned the mood around.
These are my observations of the current mood on π, not an objective ranking of model capabilities.
And if there's one thing I've learned from watching this space, it's how quickly everything can change. One breakthrough release, one disappointing update, and the entire narrative flips.
I'm curious whether your own experience matches what I'm seeing.
Anthropic's leaked IPO numbers put the Claude boom into perspective: $16.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier. The draft filing also shows an $80.7 billion net loss, according to WSJ and Reuters. But $72 billion comes from accounting charges on fundraising instruments, largely reflecting their increased value. It doesn't mean Anthropic burned $80 billion in cash.
The computing bill is still enormous: nearly $9 billion spent on infrastructure in six months, with hundreds of billions committed to future capacity. Meanwhile, Reuters reports that some prospective IPO investors are discussing a valuation around $1.5 trillion, down from the roughly $2 trillion previously expected for November's listing.
"Fable 5.5" is showing up in public GitHub commits now. A T3 Code pull request merged on October 20 includes October 17 commits carrying the credit "Co-authored-by: Fable 5.5 "[email protected]" (mailto:[email protected])". The changes fix an authentication issue affecting locally hosted clients.
That fits the reports of partners testing Anthropic's next model. One caveat: anyone can edit a Git commit's coauthor field, so the credit alone cannot prove which model wrote the code. Anthropic still hasn't officially announced Fable 5.5.
Red Engine was great, but @CDPROJEKTRED is going to make Unreal Engine 5 absolutely fly!
Cyberpunk 2 is going to look insane, especially thanks to Nanite. It's perfect for the highly complex geometry of the city.
JPEG XL is a big deal because it can loslessly recompress any JPEG and save another 20% or so on file size!
There have been many potential JPEG successors over the years, but this one seems to be the best.
Chrome 155 adds support for JPEG XL (.jxl) β goo.gle/4yYpSjW
Expect 30-50% smaller file sizes than traditional JPEGs, native HDR, progressive rendering, and lossless JPEG transcoding.
Under the hood, Chrome uses jxl-rs, a pure Rust decoder built for maximum memory safety and performance.
Wow, Grok Bot already has 800,000 weekly active paying users!
Elon Musk just revealed this during SpaceX's earnings call. He also said Grok Bot is the fastest-growing product he's ever seen in terms of user adoption.
That's absolutely nuts!
