Holiday tip for you:
If your grandparents ask you what you want for Christmas, tell them you want them to write down all of their recipes. The ones they keep in their head, and probably have never put to paper.
It will cost them nothing, and be the best gift of your life.

Replying to @Adrianinag
@Adrianinag is a fine farmer, and innovates to enhance his farm’s productivity and profitability. Cover crops are one of the tools he uses
Adrian Locklear has used cover crops in North Carolina since 2013 to help suppress weeds and improve his soil. He advises starting small and trying different species and blends to find what works best for your farm. Watch here: ow.ly/TTu950ZULMX #SoyCheckoff #ScienceForSuccess #CoverCrops

Something about equipment manufacturers still producing a tried and true economical machine but not offering it stateside really pisses me off. I’m not calling CaseIH out specifically, John Deere and others do the same thing.
But we can definitely buy a class 10 combine for a million dollars, and when it breaks they’ll send a tech out for $250/hour. Class 5 combines are good enough for the rest of the world, but not us.
Get big or get out peasant. Earl Butz started hammering nails in this way of life fifty years ago.
What are all these people doing with their time?
Americans' participation in various social activities has declined by double-digit margins since 1995.
That includes:
• Entertaining people in your home: -21
• Attending a place of worship: -20
• Going on a picnic: -19

Hines Family Farm in Jacksonville produces a variety of fresh produce each year, including tomatoes, peppers, peaches, watermelons, and zucchini. The land the farm sits on has been in the Hine family for many generations and continues to impact the community today.
Visit their roadside market to meet the family and stock up on their fresh, seasonal products. Grown, Raised, Caught, Made. If you want the best, it’s Got to Be NC! #GotToBeNC #NCAgriculture

Some things get passed down through generations that go far beyond a business. For the Braswell family, it's the belief that how you treat your land, your hens and your neighbors matters just as much as the eggs you send out the door.
That belief was tested when Trey Braswell lost his father. He could have sold the farm and walked away, and it would have been the easier path. But Trey thought about the team who had built their lives around Braswell Family Farms and the people counting on the farm for their livelihoods. Rooted deeply in faith, Braswell Family Farms has continued to build its story on that foundation as one of North Carolina's trusted egg producers.
That decision still shapes the way the farm operates today, guiding choices from the laying barn to the table, and in the community they call home.
We are proud to celebrate the team at Braswell Family Farms, who show up every day committed to producing safe, quality eggs for our tables and to the community that depends on them.
