A conservation success story. When Vicky and I moved to Gurnards Head there were no choughs in Cornwall. 30 years later I regularly see flocks of over 60 at rose-an-hale.org Living proof that is possible to bring back a species that is such a vital part of the ecosystem.

A wonderfully soft start to the day. It’s starting to feel like autumn.

I’ve finally found and uploaded a copy of our first film ‘Yndan an Fala - Valley Beneath the Sea’. Made 40 years ago on an old 16mm Bolex. We were kids! youtu.be/m2OnpLb6ihw

What a wonderful start to the day! Thank you @tinodady #TheTidesofKirawira is over 40 years old. How thrilled @VickyStoneFilm would have been 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for making the Tides of Kirawira. I used to be a young Tanzanian boy who couldn't even understand language but I understood that film. Much love and respect. #AsanteSana @markdeeble1

The view from rose-an-hale.org with a brisk north-westerly. Oystercatchers, choughs and ravens on the wing. Looking wonderful out there today.

When will we get a present-day confirmed sighting of a great white shark off Cornwall? Their food is here and the ocean is getting warmer… Interesting record of a West India Shark ( aka GW) in Mounts Bay in the late 1700s/ early 1800s - measuring approximately 20 feet.

The big pond at rose-an-hale.org. It’s only been in existence 4 months, but already we’ve had 2 broods of moorhens.

My ongoing project to combat biodiversity loss and create a living memorial to @VickyStoneFilm who loved these cliffs and took inspiration from them. rose-an-hale.org

A really important article about the mortality post ‘catch and release’ in the recreational UK tuna fishery. For years we’ve been told it was insignificant - but the death of one in five hooked and released tuna is shocking.

Wonderful evening spent in the presence of beavers and ⁦@Skentelbery⁩ for #CornwallWildlifeTrust’s @CornwallBeaver project. If we can do it for choughs, we can do it for beavers. #bringthemback

Didn’t see much for a mile this morning, then six 6 spot burnets appeared on a tiny clump of thrift!
