Building the global infrastructure for agreements, one step at a time:
Cursor for contracts is here. Announcing Spellbook's new AI document editor.
Doc editing for lawyers is disjointed: you can edit with AI in chat, but then need to "Open in Word" to make manual tweaks without breaking formatting.
Alternatively you can use a Word add-in like Spellbook's, but this only allows you to work on one document at a time.
For a long time, @mitchellhynes and I talked about getting to a real "Cursor for Contracts" experience.
With a lot of blood and sweat, we're finally there.
Spellbook's new editor combines the best of AI editing and manual editing in one place—while fully supporting rich Word formatting that lawyers rely on.
Ask AI to make edits across an entire document set, then review, accept and tweak all in one window.
This sounds like a small thing, but the reduction in friction has totally changed my document editing workflow.

Today we're launching @SpellbookLegal's biggest thing yet: Autonomous Contract Management
It’s the first end-to-end AI infrastructure for contracts
The world is speeding up. We are in one of the biggest investment cycles in decades.
Behind every rocket launch, FIFA game, and datacenter, lies a web of hundreds of agreements.
Agreements are the invisible threads that allow us to work together.
We have infrastructure for finance (Stripe, Ramp), eCommerce (Shopify) and many business functions.
But agreement infrastructure is lacking. This creates a painful bottleneck on our ability to work together.
Online purchases take milliseconds. But agreements still take weeks.
CLMs were supposed to be the answer, but were designed in a pre-AI era.
AI fundamentally changed how computers can accelerate agreements.
Spellbook is the most used AI contract review tool in the world, with ~5,000 customers in 80 countries
Now we are expanding to deliver the first end-to-end, AI native stack for contracts.
From the moment a deal lands in your inbox, to the day it renews years later, Spellbook’s AI supports teams every step of the way, across all business teams.
It runs 24/7. While you sleep, it's reading the deals that came in overnight, flagging the parts that actually need a lawyer, and clearing the busywork that used to kill mornings.
Nothing gets handed off between systems or slips after signature, and the intelligence stays with you for the life of the contract.
AI for lawyers is great. There are 20 million lawyers in the world, and many are our users.
But there are billions who touch contracts. We're excited to help everyone move faster and do more of what they love, by building the best AI-powered contract infrastructure in the world.

Ireland’s Ombudsman for Children (OCO), Dr Niall Muldoon, received an honorary doctorate in recognition of a lengthy career dedicated to championing children’s rights.
A clinical psychologist from Donegal with nearly 20 years’ experience in child protection, Dr Muldoon holds a PhD from the UCD School of Psychology, where his research focused on psychotherapy for sexual offenders.
Throughout his tenure as OCO, he has championed the rights and needs of children, focusing on issues including access to health services, family justice reform, and school places for children with special needs.
Influential business executive Siobhán Talbot was also awarded an honorary doctorate for her significant contributions to the Irish and global business worlds.
Talbot served as CEO of Irish multinational nutrition company Glanbia from 2013 until 2022. She was the first woman appointed to the role, and the second woman ever to lead an Irish listed company.
Paul Sweeney, one of Ireland’s most influential economists, was awarded a UCD honorary doctorate in recognition of his unique contributions to the country’s economic development.
Sweeney is the former Chief Economist of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and was at the heart of the economic bargaining and social partnership that helped transform Ireland into a prosperous, modern, high-tech economy.
